3.1 Bottle at Matt's Brown color. Sour, aggressive, light berries, but overall there is not much depth or fruit quality; aggressive with no grace, and not much interest.
3.7 Sampler at Hops and Pie 8-20-16
3.5 Tap at Wicked Weed Funkatorium. Deep red colour, small steady pinky head. Berryish aroma ... strawberry juice. Medium-bodied. Tart grandma's berry juice. Strawberries, cranberries. Nice.
3.6 Very fizzy with a champagne-like taste at the end. Sour and tart with sweet fruit and wine flavor.
3.6 500ml bottle at Matt's. Pours a hazy copper with a tan head. Aroma is very fruity with lots of barrel and some buttery notes from the oak. Similar taste with moderate acidity. Fairly good.
3.5 500mL bottle, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of red wine barrels, with balsamic notes and tart pithy berries. Flavour is along the same lines, with plenty of red wine barrels, balsamic, Worcestershire sauce, and very tart red berries. Moderate acidity, with a highly puckering finish. Nice stuff.
4.0 Amber-brown, with a thin head. The aroma is quite bright, with a lot of blackberry, some caramelized malts and a touch of acidity. Tart, nice woody note, touch of vinegar. Lots of complexity, the berries are nice.
3.6 Bottle - dark red pour. Jammy nose with some wine character. Sweet cherry and dark fruit. Mild sourness.
3.8 Draft. Copper beer with a dark cream head. Light sour aroma. Sour and light berry flavor with light red wine. Medium bodied. Sourness and light red wine linger with light oak and light berry.
3.8 Immediate aroma of cherry vinegar. Nice deep red orange color. Very sour up front with some unripe fruits. Ends on a dry bitter note. Palate is correct. Tap
4.0 Bottle from Smith’s. Pours turbid magenta with off-pinky head. Blackberry, red wine, oak in the nose. Tart flavor, blackberry, tart red winey, oaky, yeasty, complex finish.
3.9 On tap at Wicked Weed Funkatorium in Asheville, NC. Aroma is mild funk, cocoa, dark fruits, some tobacco leaves. Taste is dry cocoa, dark fruit skins, tobacco, oak with some mild funk notes. One of the more flavorful WW sours I’ve tried.
3.8 (500ml 2016 bottle from boxbeers.dk) Pours a hazy reddish brown with a big, short lived off white head that leaves nice lace. Aroma is heavy on red wine character, sweet and moderately sour at once. Notes of raspberry, blackberry, strong notes of sweet dried dark fruits (dates but also figs etc.), dark cherries, tannic oak, light acetic sherry vinegar quality. Flavour is tart but not sour, charries, raspberries, berry seeds, a little lemon juice, very little acetic acid, fairly neutral wood with subtle wine tones, some crabapple. Fairly dry in the finish, tannic, some berry skins. Light to medium bodied, extremely high carbonation. Promises more on the nose than the flavour delivers, not unusual for WW. Last of my pre-Inbev stock.
4.0 A reddish brown color with a pinkish head. The aroma contains some vinegar, cherries, and raspberries. The flavor is only slightly sour and we’ll balanced with some cherries and dark fruit. Not over the top sour and really good
4.2 On tap at the Growler Spot. Dark clear reddish. Aroma of tart berries and red wine. Tart, fruity and really balanced. Nice. Damn you InBev. You strike again 😫.
3.9 Karmel, owoce jeśne, daktyle, figi, trochę takiej surowej dębowej beczki, lekko taniczne, winne, ściągające. Raczej równowaga między słodyczą, a kwaśnym charakterem z fajnymi akcentami czerwonego wina i owoców leśnych.
4.2 Amazing beer. Dark red pour from bottle in Dubuque. Smells like sweet red wine. Taste is cherries, grape; vinegar in a good way, and apple. Love it.
3.9 Pours a deep ruby color with a white head. Tart, raspberry, vinegar and date aroma and flavors. Medium light body and medium carbonation with a tart raspberry finish.
4.3 Scent is mild with subtle blackberry. Tastes tart, fruity, woody with a dry aftertaste.
4.0 Bottle. Poured a deep amberish color with an off white head. Fruity, berries, and the red wine barrel comes out as it opens.
3.9 Tap at Cap Tap. Pours darkly ruddy with a light tan head. Aroma is sourish, woody, fruity. Med body at least. Flavor is dark berry, wood, some darkish fruit. It’s more tart than sour. Were it raspberry I’d be thinking Belgium. Drinks easy. Quite tasty.
4.2 On tap at Cap Tap. Pours blueish brown with a nice beige head and a berry aroma. There is a moderately sour dark malt flavor with a lot of blueberry and a tart wine finish. Fairly subtle yet very tasty.
3.9 Aromat: mocny i intensywny, czerwone dobre wino półwytrawne i świeże leśne owoce.
4.0 Beer’s aromatic with marshmallow, perfume, malt, red wine. Flavor’s not as complex, mainly quite tart, dry, some fruit. Well carbonated which enhances tartness. Good finish.
3.9 A great sour, but let it age. It balances much better after at least a few months. Very nice palate.
3.6 Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, brettanomyces, wood, and berries. The flavor is sweet with notes of wood, brettanomyces, berries, and straw, leading to a tart finish.
3.8 Sample from 50 cl bottle. Deep amber colour with a thin, white head. Tart, fruity aroma with dark berries, wooden notes, red wine. Taste is light sour. Medium bodied. Finishes tart fruity with lingering fruity notes.
3.8 Bottle@Yesprs - Red Amber pour with off white head. Medium sour fruity with some prominent blackberry fruit, some berry skin, yeasty notes, some vinegar, wooden accents, nice.
3.7 Bottle at yespr. Clear ruby colored with a medium sized off-white head. Fruity and light acidic aroma berries and red wine. Fruity and light acidic flavor of red wine and berries. Tart finish.
