A golden unfiltered wheat beer that is truly cloudy and clearly superb.

2.8 Low formation foam, low density and very short duration. Liquid is yellow, very cloudy, with a juicy aspect. Aroma is very poor. I hardly could feel the hops and the wheat notes. Even the yeast were hidden. On mouth, things get better. The wheat comes in a shy way, then the hops but not truly aromatic, just a pleasant bitterness. The aftertaste is the best part. Little bit higher bitterness and the wheat taste. Not even fat the best American Wheat I have ever tried, but it is refreshing for hot days. Only worths in a very good price, otherwise, id prefer other brewries.
4.0 Cool alles aus den BavariaStrain rausgeholt 👌Pepper, Oat, Wheat & AGAIN!! my melting 🧠☄️🙂 FlaschenStuff in LA...
2.7 From backlog. Bottle at Ayres Hotel Anaheim. Cloudy Golden with white head. Malts, hops, yeast, banana.
2.9 Boy, I loved this one back in the day when it was the only hef in town. It's a tasty beer, but more so because of a local lack of interest in wheat beers. The color is hazy gold, but a little dull and juicy. Mild smell of some cereal malt. Taste is very light. Too light for a hefeweizen. The hop presence is nice, but I want more of that creamy wheat taste. More of a hot day, drinkable beer.
2.8 Fles 35,5cl in Seattle. Licht weizenachtig, licht waterig. (9-2016).--------.
2.7 From notes. Thought I added this one a while ago. 12 oz bottle gifted to me by my aunt JoAnn at a party on December 30. The pour is a darker golden orange with a thick white head and a ton of sediment floating around. There is a good bit of lace as it falls to a cap. The aroma is something else. There is a ton of sweet malts and almost like a candy. There is definitely not the traditional huge hefe yeast hit. It's like a sweet belgian gold. The flavor is much of the same. The sweetness is surprising. It's got a syrupy thing happening, and I can't help but wonder if it's attributed to the age. The hefe almost doesn't exist, and it makes this tolerable. The mouth feel is thicker and syrupy with a softer carbonation and a lingeringly sweet malt and light yeastiness. This baby must be damn old. Who knows. 5 3 5 3 11
4.7 I love this beer! Favorite of all time for me! The cloudiness, the color, everything! But it might be nostalgic for me! Having turned 21 in Portland OR, land of Widmer, this is the staple of the city!
3.4 12 ounce bottle thanks to Chad. Light yellow yeasty some banana ok overall.
2.2 Has a pleasant light aroma and a cloudy wheat body, however leaves much to be desired. Mostly tastes of malt and lacks the wheat smoothness. With eyes closed I probably would think I’m drinking a light beer. Has an odd bitter finish. Just overall nothing to be excited about.
1.3 This is a hefe found everywhere in CA. It is the worst hefe you can find in California but I still buy it because it is often the only hefe at your local store. This makes the German people cry😭
2.9 Backlog rating from 2006: Not much aroma. Cloudy white yellow/orange, low head. Fairly bready, yeasty with light apricot.
3.3 Much better than the super commercialized wheats, but still brewed for the masses instead of being the best it could be. Portland
3.2 This stuff is everywhere. Kind of surprised that it hasn't been eaten up by in-bev, with its distribution I thought that Maybe it already had.
3.7 From old tasting notes. Immensely cloudy gold color. Dense creamy white head. Yeasty, citrus malt nose. Tart grapefruit wheat malt flavor. Dry finish. Interesting.
3.0 Vat. Troebel geel kleur, fijne romige witte schuimkraag. De geur van tarwe en bsnaan. Smaak is zoet, licut citrus, tarwe en sinaasappel. Licht Lichaam, Veel koolzuur.
3.2 Cloudy pale golden yellow color with a white head of billowing foam. Fresh wheat, mellow citrus, with a yeasty banana vibe.
2.8 Thick head that dissipates slowly Opaque yellow color Very light grass aroma Tingling bite on the tongue Mild flavor with a refreshing quality Not much aftertaste Nothing memorable
3.4 Pours a cloudy yellow-orange with minimal white head. Not much lacing. Nose is wheat, banana, and some citrus. Sadly there isn’t much spice. Taste is lemon, banana, orange zest, wheat, and just a hint of pepper. Light bodied with a crisp finish. I have no idea why this is getting bombed here in the ratings; it’s not a knock out but it’s pretty darn drinkable.
4.0 Love wheat beer. Beautiful colour and taste. Goes down really well. Squeeze a bit of lemon and it accentuates the taste.
2.3 Very light. Pretty lame. Cardboard like. Tastes like a green bottle beer. Pass.
3.3 12 ounce bottle. Pours a cloudy orange hue with a medium white head. A nice smooth biscuit and lemon nose. Light, refreshing, bready malts, some lemon zest, a bit of banana esters. Pretty nice. No idea how I have not rated this.
1.8 It’s sad that the label says hefeweizen. This would by an okayish American wheat ale. No cloves/bananae whatsoever. Just the grainy notes of wheat. This is drinkable, but I don’t see a particular reason to drink this.
3.7 12 ounce bottle into weizen glass, bottled on 5/17/2016. Pours hazy golden/straw color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemon, banana, orange peel, peppercorn, clove, pear, apple, light bubblegum, wheat, cracker, lightly toasted bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/earthy hops, and moderate pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, banana, orange peel, peppercorn, clove, pear, apple, light bubblegum, wheat, cracker, lightly toasted bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, banana, orange peel, peppercorn, clove, wheat, cracker, lightly toasted bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/earthy hops, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/creamy, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is a nice hefeweizen. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/earthy hops, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink. Very well balanced and nicely flavorful; never feeling bland/watery for the low ABV. Pretty classic feeling style flavors. A nicely enjoyable offering.
2.6 Bottle - Pours a hazy pale gold, white head. Light roasted wheat malts, lemon, and hay in the nose. Flavors of wheat malt, light fruits, mild hops. Mild. Drinkable.
3.0 Tap. Pours hazy/cloudy gold. Aroma is wheat, banana, floral notes, and faint clove. Flavor is wheat and pale malt forward with some hefe yeast esters and faint bitterness. Medium body.
3.3 12 ounce glass poured to wine glass average, yellowish, hazy, no foam not too fragrant, grains, fruity low bitterness, some sweetness, tart medium carbonation, sudden drop then long follow through, long tart bitter aftertaste Overall: Very good beer, balance, nothing exciting but nothing exceptional either Drank: January 16, 2017 12:00 AM
2.9 355ml bottle. It is a cloudy gold, tastes like a muted hefeweizen in comparison to its German brethren.
3.4 Hefe. Did I detect slight citrus? Or was it left over Orange in my teeth from the Blue Moon? Who knows
2.4 Cloudy yellow body with a small, fizzy, short-lived, white head that doesn’t leave any lacing on my glass. Strong pale lager-like aroma of pale malts, citrus and faint cooked corn. Strange. Moderate flavour of pale malts, citrus, apples and generic fruits, and some hints of wheat. Light sweet and light bitter taste. Light body, dry texture, moderate carbonation. Very far from what I expect when I pour a wheat ale. [35.5 cl bottle, from Vinmonopolet Aker brygge]
3.2 Bottle 250616. Golden-orange colour with a white head. Aroma is fruit, malt, hop, wheat, orange. Flavour is fruit, malt, hop, wheat, oranges, banana, yeast. OK beer.
