Wiibroe Porter Imperial Stout

Wiibroe Porter Imperial Stout

Danish: Wiibroe Porter (Imperial Stout) huskes stadig som verdens bedste Porter. Den blev lanceret i 1930 og fandt i en årrække også vej til udlandet, hvor den solgtes i mindre flasker. I 1996 vandt Wiibroe Porter sølvmedalje i verdensmesterskabet for ølbrygning.

3.7 Bottle from Carlsberg Brewery. Actually a really nice imperial porter. Nice little foam as all good porters have, a deep coffee flavour. Clingy.
4.1 Meget overrasket. Tyk tjære. Meget sødme i duften. Rund og kraftig. Tydelige noter af lakrids og ristet malt. Savner lidt mere smag af kaffe, men ellers en fremragende imp stout.
3.6 Bottle@ S-huset w PhD colleagues. Appearance: pours clear dark brown with good beige soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste notes: caramel, liquorice, alcohol, light coffee, light smoke and chocolate. palette: strong roasted malty aroma, average carbonation, full body, notable sweetness, somewhat balanced by an average to notable bitterness, medium duration to long and an oily texture. Overall: tasteful, smooth and easily available
3.9 Bottle. A very strong porter. Strong in taste and alcohol. Plenty of malt and bitter hops. Full and rich without being too sweet. I like.
3.0 Bottle (8,2%) dark with a medium beige head. Aroma and taste is coffee and chocolate. Aftertaste was to bitter and to much alcohol at the end. Probably better with some coffee and cake

3.8 Dyb mørk porter med flot karamelfarvet skum. Duft af karamel og lakrids. Smag af lakreids, malt, chokolade m.m. Flot porter, ikke mindst til prisen.
2.9 Decent but extremely overrated. Sweet burnt caramel, roasted malt, soy sauce and some bitterness in the end. Not enough to ballance the sticky sweet booze.
4.1 Wow. en overraskende god porter. Masser af fylde og smag. Tilpas med bitterhed. Bliver måske lidt tung mod slutningen.
3.5 Black. The aroma is a bit metallic and not the selling point here. Full, roasted malty flavour, moderate sweetness and low bitterness. Full body. Overall, a good baltic porter. Straightforward, simple and tasty.

3.5 33 cl bottle@home in trappist glass@approx 10 degrees C. Pours dark brown with light brown head with medium retention. Aroma of roasted malt, toffee and caramel. The sweetness from the aroma is also reflected in the taste, whre licorice and coffee joins the malt and caramel. Sweeter that I would expect from a porter with a quite thick texture and soft carbonation. Aftertaste again sweet - almost sticky - with a little bitterness kicking in. OK porter, but too one-dimensional and sweet to rate with the best..
3.9 Aroma of chocolate, liquorice, roasty, caramel. Black with brown semi-long lasting foam. Medium-heavy sweetness followed by light bitterness. Long lasting taste. Full body, creamy comfortable texture, soft carbonation. A very well brewed ported.
3.3 Bottle @ eske’s, Vejle. Served too cold. Aroma of roasted malt, liquorice. Black colour with tan head, mostly lasting. Taste is moderate malt bitterness, light+ sweetness, little metal. Full body, oily texture, avg. carb., malt bitter finish.
