Wild Beer Sleeping Lemons Export

Wild Beer Sleeping Lemons Export

Inspired by Moroccan preserved lemons.

At first we launched Sleeping Lemons, 3.6% with a tart, zingy acidity and rounded salt character, it was the perfect sunshine beer. It was our firm favourite all through the summer, however it’s not summer anymore…

Sleeping Lemons Export comes in at 6% lending a bigger, maltier body to the beer. The fuller mouthfeel and warming alcohol bring decadent flavours of lemon meringue pie to the character of this beer and the acidity is more rounded and reminiscent of lemon curd.

Made with preserved lemons, this re-release of an old favourite, now available in our 330ml bottles for you selfish people out there who feel sharing is all too much...

3.6 Tap. Malty and yeasty aroma and taste, lemons, light to medium sour, light bitter. Light to medium body, malty and light yeasty salty sour finish. Ok.
3.9 Tap. Yellow color with medium white head. Aroma of lemons, yeast, spices. Taste, yeast, lemons, wheat.
3.4 Slight haze. Light amber. Thin head. Lemons on the nose, with biscuity malt and a hit of yeastiness. Tart, lemony, and still with some maltiness. Not sure what's "gose" about this, really. It's a lemony tart ale.
3.3 Aroma is crabapples, citrus and funk. Taste is more sour apples, curd and vinegar. Finishes with tart and lemon zest. Pretty pungent but finishes fairly subtly.
4.0 AR: tart, Zitrone, Salz, Brett, Minze AP: trüb golden TA: tart, Zitrone, Salz, Brett, Minze
3.2 Bottle. Clear golden color with off-white head. Aroma has lemon, tart elements. Taste is fruity with quite long sour aftertaste. Flavors of citrus, sour apples, salt and vinegar.
3.4 Bottle. Faintly hazy gold, thin fizzy short lived white head and low condition. Muted citrus lemon and low yeasty funk in the nose, quite soft and smooth in the mouth with a slightly dry lemon sherbert note and a gentle herbal spiciness, a sweetness develops and there is a faint phenolic funk. Finish has a touch of lemon tartness and a slight saltiness before turning dry. Much more balanced than the weaker Sleeping Lemons but lacking some of the formers funkiness.
3.8 Bottle. Hazy yellow with no head. The aroma has notes of spices, lemon, apricot and herbs. The flavor is sour and mild salty with lots of lemons, kind of lemon juice, spices, acidic, unripe apricot, herbs, quite juicy. Very carbonated, medium-bodied.
3.3 330 ml bottle from Bumble Inn, Peterborough, bb 16/04/21. Straw/pale orange, cloudy. Nose - funk, lemon peel, salt. Taste - sour, lemon. Prickly carbonation.
3.3 330mL bottle, pours a cloudy orange with a quickly-dissipating white head. Nose brings out plenty of pepper and lemon zest upfront, with a crisp acidity and plenty of salt. Flavour is along the same lines, with lemon zest, some pepper, light acidity and saltiness. Zesty, salty and pleasantly citric acidity on the finish. Nice one.
4.1 Bottle, small bubbly head, hazy palish orange colour, aroma of lemon , yeast, rubber and some herbs behind, lemon and popsicle flavor with some vinous notes, herbs and spiciness, quite strong lemony tart sourness with a hint of fruity sweetness and just a touch of saltiness. Delicately balanced and one of the best thirst quenchers around.
3.0 330ml bottle. Colour of lemon curd, no retention of head. Little in the way of aroma that I could pick up on, slightly antiseptic perhaps. Taste is sour; lemons and salt prevail. Tart. Definitely refreshing but not really my thing.
3.7 Bottle from a selection box in Waitrose. Removing the cap revealed a ring of yeast around the bottle mouth, the beer poured yellow-gold and hazy with a distinct salty Gose tang plus notes of scrumpy apples and yes, a hint of lemon. Salt and lemon on the palate, like an old-style Gose made into a Radler but with lemon juice, not lemonade. Sharp and lime-tart, but also slightly malty with a funky farmhouse undertone. Mmm.
3.5 330 ml bottle. Pours gold with lots of bubble that dissipate immediately - like pop. Aromas of woody lemons and wheat. Flavors of apple skins, salty wheat, lemon/lime, and a bit of bread crust
3.4 Bottle. Pours cloudy yellow. Aroma is dried liquor, fig, lemon, old beer. Body is medium, lemons, sour, a bit salty, coriander, low carbonation. Quite good.
3.8 Yellow, cloudy white head that dosnt last. Sour, fruity wood aroma. Sour, malt fruit hint of breto. Good bert
3.8 The aroma is lemons, lemon rind, pineapple, toast, vanilla and funk. Taste is puckering lemon drops, grape, apple, and syrup.
3.6 0.33 l bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. Appearance is bubbly, lime and no head. Taste has lime or lemon - dry and spritzy. Summer drink with salt and lemon.
3.5 Tap at The Overdraught Nottingham. Pours hazy pale orange with thin halo. Aroma is salty lemon juice. Taste is medium sour with a salty tang. Palate is medium bodied, oily texture, soft to average carbonation, astringent finish. Overall a pleasant palate cleaner but would one spend a happy evening with someone drinking pints of this? I speak rhetorically of course.
3.3 Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty weak sour lemon aroma. Fruity malty weak sour tart lemon flavor. has a fruity sour salty lemon finish.

3.1 Bottle from Alko. The beer pours deep yellow in color with a thin and quickly disappearing head. Salty, zesty, lemony aroma, hint of funk. Salty with strong lemon notes, crisp, slightly tart. Short lemony finish. Bit one sided.
3.7 Keg in the Salt House. Pours a nice hazy pale yellow with a thin white head that holds around the edge. Nose is quite pleasant, lots of mixed peel, bit of honey, slightly peachy. Taste is light sweetness, light bitter, light sour. Quite delicate. Bit of candy, Brett flavour. Prickly but not too lively, light body, malty sour finish. Interesting drink, fairly light and pleasant.
3.5 On tap at the Salt House. Appearance: hazy yellow, tiny white head. Aroma: mild lemon drops, grassy. Flavour: light lemon, refreshing, slight sherbet, light lemon squash finish.
3.6 0,33l bottle from Alko bottle shop. Pours to the glass leaving a small lace. Cloudy yellow color. Yeasty salt, champagne, citrus in aroma. Taste is attacking citrus, first like drinking a citrus juice. Really crispy, biting lemon curd, grapefruit, lime, afterwards yoghurtlike, lime, salty sourness. Nicely lingering in the palate. Dry salt. Loving it. Easy-going drink.
3.5 0.33l bottle from qoqa.ch. pours a milky yellow with a medium head and a nice lacing. aroma of champagne, lemons, slight funk. flavour of lemon curd, white wine, salt, white bread. straightforward but nice and refreshing.
3.4 330ml bottle. Pours slightly hazy gold with no head. Aroma is salty lemons and light yoghurt. Taste is salty throughout. Touches of vanilla. Yoghurt on the finish with a lemony aftertaste.
3.3 A light yellow beer, a head is white and almost medium. Aroma has sourness, grapes, apples, some vanila. Taste has apple and perry, balanced sourness, freshness of grapes and lemon. Medium bodied. Nice beer, refreshning.
3.3 0,33l Bottle from Alko, shared. Pours yellow color. Flavor of lemon, citrus, salt, maltiness, tartness. Medium body, pretty dry, slight bitterness, and tarty taste. Juicy lemony gose, feels like a Berliner Weisse. Pretty nice.
3.2 33 cl bottle. Hazy, pale yellow, medium-low carbonation, no head, some powdery sediments. Not much to the nose, but I do pick up the obvious salt, lemon and lime aromas. Mouthfeel is refreshing, salty but not bitter or sour, dry with a nice level of carbonation. Flavour is balanced, salt and lime up front. Not a bad Gose, but I've had better ones.
