Wild Blue

Wild Blue

Not suited for timid or reserved beer drinkers, Wild Blue’s defining taste characteristic is its kick of natural blueberry flavor. The Blue Dawg Brewing team carefully selected a blend of hops and barley malt to ensure they complemented and balanced Wild Blue’s dominant blueberry notes, resulting in a robust and aromatic beer with a refreshing, palate-cleansing finish.

Wild Blue is brewed with a blend of German hops from the Hallertau region in Bavaria and classic Aroma hops from the Willamette Valley in the Pacific Northwest. A combination of two- and six-row barley malt also was chosen specifically for this recipe. Beer lovers will appreciate this specialty fruit-infused lager’s striking burgundy color, ripe blueberry aroma and its ability to stand up to the strongest of foods.

2.8 Blueberry, fruity, malty smell, blueberry color, purple white head, very sweet, fruity, bubbly taste, the sweetness in strong, no start to even it out. This tastes like a mainline beer, not much too it but sweetness and fruit. Not complex at all, it is what you get.
5.0 My favorite beer! I wish there was somewhere to buy it in Rocky Mt, Va.
5.0 By far my favorite beer. Yes, I know it has a fruity taste to it and it has a bluish purple color to it, but it tastes great. Reminds me a bit of some of the Kasteel beers I had in Europe.
2.1 Bottle - Pours freakin purple. Purple and flat. Blueberry is dominant and seems more like sparkling grape juice than a beer.
2.5 Finally decide to give this a try after seeing on the shelf everywhere. Pours a surprisingly dark cranberry-purple with tons of fizz... Yeah, it’s more soda fizz than an actual head. Smells like fruit juice or maybe a sweet red wine. Taste is more grape juice than anything resembling beer. Very carbonated. I swear this reminds me of Grape Crush. It’s not horrible, I guess. But it’s not beer either.
2.0 Had this from a bottle in Mew Haven with Stefan after picking blueberries. Nose is malty but taste is like a sweet berry soda pop. Surprised by the 8% alcohol because it seems lighter and easy to drink. F Avey
2.6 Pours a dark blue, with small pinkish head. Smells fruity like blueberries, taste is not as sweet as a smirnoff or hard lemonade but fruit juice sweet. Has a somewhat artificial taste similar to cold medication. This isnt a beer more of a flavored malt beverage. Not the greatest but I will keep drinking it since it has 8% alochol, I like the buzz!
2.5 12 oz bottle. Dark purple-blue body is clear and topped but a pinkish-white head. Fruity smell of berries including blueberries. Flavor: sweet, berry-like flavor with blueberries; overly sweet. Overall: not good but not entirely awful either.
3.0 I got this from Friar Tucks. Pours dark blue-purple with a purplish head. Taste sweet, blueberries. I thought this was ok. I could drink this again.
3.3 Straight all blueberry smell to the nose with hint of grape juice. Deep grape juice color color with small purple head that lasts for seconds. Taste of sparkling blueberry juice with a hint of booze. Medium syrupy body with light zingy carbonation that dies quickly to flat juice effect. This in my eyes is more of a malt beverage than a beer but the smooth finish brings you back to how it could be a beer. Bitch brew but acceptable.
2.0 Golden amber pour with a quick dissipating head. Light fruit aromas with a touch of yeast. Flavor is light malt with hints of fruit, kinda thin.
2.8 Bottle from hyvee....shared with poopsicle....actually better than i expected...not really that sweet...alcohol very well hidden...almost tastes like sparkling wine...(#831)
1.9 Bottled. Very sweet aroma. Cranberry coloring. Tastes like it looks. Sweet and kind of manufactured. Doesn't taste boozy.
1.9 Bolted. Poured a blueberry blue. Has a dry blueberry taste. Not much there for a beer. Tastes like I took a bunch of blueberries and crushed them together and poured a bug light over it. Pretty bad beer
1.7 Looks like blueberry juice with a blue/purple head. Tastes like a bad blue berry juice.
2.7 Has a really nice blueberry smell and redish in color. Beer has a sweet berry flavor with a bit at the end. This is a really different beer.
1.1 Bottle: Grape juice purple in color with a pinkish head that dissipated quickly. The aroma reminded me of a blueberry pop tart. The taste is a chemical sugary - artificial sweetness - that is flat on the tongue. Overall, nothing special here, I would rather drink one of the macro brews.
1.9 Pours a purplish color. Takes like purple. The "grape" flavor of many cheap drinks. Artificial and sweet. A bit like a cheap malt beer lingering behind. This is like the Boones Farm of fruit beers.
3.2 You can find these in most grocery stores. If you’re looking for something that’s cheap and unique, then this might just be it. If you’re sick and tired of generic mass produced beer with billion dollar add campaigns then this is it!. From a bottle. Pours an odd reddish burgundy color with a light pinkish purplish head that fizzes away after a few minutes. Tastes of blueberries and a dash of hops and has an odd finish. Has a surprisingly deceptive alcohol content so it can be dangerous if drank in bulk. Otherwise it’s not bad at all. Better than standard beer, worse than the expensive stuff. Fantastic on a hot summer day or a cold interesting night!
2.6 12 oz bottle. Deep purple, looks like grape soda, fleeting magenta head. Aroma is blueberries, cereal, sugar. Flavor is blueberries, with a slick saccharine aftertaste. Weird.
2.8 Roxa com média formação de espuma de média duração. Leve frutado, mas imperceptível qual a fruta. No paladar a breja é bem doce. Corpo leve com final curto e doce, nada além disso.
5.0 Excellent in every catagory, I will have this to drink every weekend, have been waiting for this since I found out blueberries were good for you and I became 21. Gets a Best Lager on the PLANET from me.
0.5 Bottle. Thoroughly disgusting. Artificial sweet chemical taste combined w layers of foulness. Hints of nail polish and grape soda. Utterly repulsive. Straight down the sink.
4.8 The only bad part is that it’s brewed by Anheuser-Busch. Other than that, it’s very thirst-quenching and not overly sweet or hoppy.
3.5 Strong and thick. Quite good but not too fruity. INterest to drink and enjoy with a tasting session.
3.0 Bottle. Not sure where this came from. It’s been in my fridge for a couple months. Pours a dark blue-purple with a pink head. Smells of blueberry. Taste is blueberry, sugar, sugar, blueberry. Tastes like a wine cooler. Could be good but way too sweet.
2.9 Bottle 355ml. Pours deep purple with low-medium purplish/pink head. Aroma is of lots of blueberries. Taste is of lots of blueberries, alcohol, berries, sugar. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: Lots of blueberries in there. But kind of high abv. Overdone. Feels a bit artificial.
2.3 Rated based on notes taken 16 Aug 2012 -- I used to think this beer was awesome. But now I can differentiate the flavors and recognize that it’s not very good. Just a strong cheap malt bill with a heaping of artificial blueberry flavoring. Meh.
3.1 12oz bottle. Pours a clear, deep ruby/garnet with a thin, ruby/pink head. Like red wine with a head. Aroma has big, slightly sweet notes if Blueberry and not much else. Taste is balanced with lots of creamy blueberry, slight grain sweetness, and a drawn put blueberry flavouring ending. Tasted slightly artificial but tasty enough. Medium body and carbonation. Medium syrup texture in the mouth. Overall lots of Blueberry flavours, slight artificial Blueberry, and not a lot else. Tasty enough.
2.6 This beer is too sweet for me but there isn’t really anything bad about it if you want a sweet beer. Poured purple with a reddish purple head, thick sweet palate, strong berry flavour and not much beery flavour :
