3.6Tap at the Beer Temple, Amsterdam on 19th March 2010. Gold with a rapidly decaying rocky off white head. Grassy hop blended with citrus and rounded nicely by background malt. Very bitter finish on a lively mouthfeel.
2.8Bottle. Not bad, but pretty light all around. Pours a gorgeous, orange-gold with a small, off-white head. Almost no hops in the aroma, just some mild malts. Flavor is lightly sweet and a bit metallic. Only in the finish is there some hop presence. Uninteresting.
2.4On tap @ The Beer temple, Amsterdam. The aroma has some caramel malts and faint hops. Slightly hazy, orange coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is slightly bitter, has some orange, faint hops, carbonation. Not good.
2.9Tasted at Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Clear golden colored, weak nose. Somewhat bitter flavor. Goes down like a pilsener.
2.8Tap @ Beer Temple Amsterdam. Aroma of caramel malt, and pretty light pithy hoppiness. Flavor is subdued bitterness and just hints of malt and fruit with some strange off-notes that are hard to place (particularly after a day of drinking.) Overall - Boring
2.5Tap @ Beer Temple. Clear orange color, short head. Aroma of caramel malt, slight hoppy. Bit thin aroma. Slight bitter taste. Boring, almost lager like.
3.6Slight hazy, golden orange pour.
Lightly sweet, somewhat sweaty hoppy aroma, some amarillo hops, overal faint. Flavour is grapefruit hops, quite bitter, dry and quite fresh.
Highly drinkable. Very nice.
2.7Tap @ Beertemple. Orange colored brew. Mild hoppy nose. Flavor is slightly hoppy, some yeast. Too dull.
3.0Tap @ Beer Temple. Looks nice, amberish color, steady head. Aroma is fruit and some malt, caramel. Taste ever so slightly malty sweet and bitterish. Nice bitter finish that doesn’t last long.
My expectations weren’t very high so it wasn’t disappointing, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for this.

(4.0 / 5.0) IPA--Beer of the Month Club Selection July, 2007--Thin, thin lace off white head. Sediment dust. Rich pretty bright amber orange cold hazed color. Floral English hop malty fruit ester hint front. Cloying mellow sweet mild crusty bisquity doughy caramel fruit hint body. Dry mild citrus crisp hop end. Sampled 1/19/2010. Aged well. Seems very English in hop profile and maltiness. Probably great on cask.
2.8On tap at Beer Temple. Clear golden orange colour, white head. Faint aroma of some caramel, light hops. Flavour is light sweet, light malty, bit of caramel, light hops, a bit sharp bitter finish, but overall very faint. Light to medium bodied. Meh...
1.911th October 2008. GABF. Very dry and spicy IPA. Dry as in where has all the moisture gone in my mouth.? Bleh!
2.4On draught at The Beertemple, Amsterdam. Pours a clear golden color with a creamy white head. Aroma is faint and reminds me of cheap pilsener. Flavor is slightly bitter and slightly sweet. No real IPA resemblance. Somewhat of a creamy texture does it a little good, but I expected more.
3.1(bottle - 12 oz) Clear orange color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is light and slightly hoppy with some nice citrus and malt notes. Flavor begins with a smooth and caramelly malt taste and moves to a lightly dry and floral hop middle. Finishes with some more of that malt and a lingering, bitter finish. Nicely balanced.
2.7Hazy bright orange color. Nice bubbling carbonation. Fluffy head. Looks like a typical pale. Nice icy lace.
Sweeter than normal pale malt. Sharp bitter hop. Bitter hops rule here. Pale (crystal?) malt, which even has a slight burnt hint.
Malt and hops form a bitter symphony, at 2 different levels. A bit flowery in the hop but mostly pilsnery bitter all around.
Sorta bubbly, yet relatively easy to drink. A little bite on the way down. Mellows out after a bit. It’s really more of a pale than an IPA, or perhaps an English IPA. IT’s a bit too "spiky" to drink all night. Not bad but too bitter. But I’m not in love with pales to begin with, so take that for what it’s worth.
2.6olden color, light head and light lacing. Nose of light hops, grassy, a bit of malt. Fairly bland, not enough hops. Finishes bland.
3.1Hazy golden color with a thin off white head. Slight caramel flavor with a bitter hops finish. Not too bad.
3.212oz. Bottle: Aroma of Earthy hops and toasted malts. Poured orange/amber in color with a huge, foamy, rocky, dense, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of hops, malts, light caramel, and Earth. Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Hop, malt, and Earth finish is dry.
2.4Both bottles were a bit under carbonated. Thin, watery, lacking in hoppiness. Pretty boring, really. Got the sixer for $4 on the half-off rack, and I would say they were priced about right. Nothing to write home about.
2.8Had to go back to ocala fl. bought from abc on 200.
12 oz. Pours a hazy amber with a medium head. Definatly a english ipa. Mostly malts in the nose and taste. Mild citrus hops. It does finish somewhat bitter, with a sweet malt backbone
2.912oz - Nice palate, color and lacing, but virtually no nose even when warm. A forgettable beer in a saturated style.
3.012 oz bottle into a pint glass. Notably English in style, as the medal indicates. Not nearly as hopped up as the Americans we’re used to. Nice and drinkable, though.
2.5Bottle thanks to Rciesla. Dark amber pour is the only good part of this beer. Bottle must have aged past use. Hops have degraded and aroma is soapy and flavor follows suit. This is why you should drink IPAs fresh.
2.7sampler pack Bottle. Pours golden with a white head that doesn’t last. Very clear. Aroma is dominated by malt, but there are some earthy/flowery notes in there as well. Smells more like a bock than an IPA. Malty sweet flavor. There’s a little bitterness there, but not quite enough to balance out the malt. Finishes sweet. Overall, so so beer at best....certainly doesn’t fit the IPA guidelines, even for an english. It doesn’t really balance out...too much malty sweetness for the bitterness in there
3.1Enjoyed from a 12oz bottle in a pub glass. This beer appears to have been modeled on English IPA, rather than on its stronger and more hoppy American brother. The beer pours a light copper to medium golden color with a reasonable white head. The nose gives a small hint of hops, but far more malt is apparent. I see this as a detraction given the fact that the style is supposed to have a hop-forward nose, even in the English version of the style, which is somewhat more restrained. The palate is a combination of malt and hops; although the hops become more apparent as the sample begins to warm. The finish does have some lingering hop bitterness. Overall, it is not a great example of IPA, and seems to be right on the border between APA and English IPA. Below average.
1.3Not an IPA..This is horrible. NO HOPS AT ALL!!!, Hard to finish a 12oz. Thinking about pouring it out,
3.1(Bottle) Pours slightly hazy amber with two fingers of off white head. Aroma is lightly fruity and a little doughy with some caramel. Mouthfeel fairly smooth, medium-heft, a touch prickly. Some broken, weepy lacing. Flavor of light fruitness over some caramel, maybe some light egg. A light-medium bitter pull through the finish. Fair. Seems more like an APA.
2.8Chill haze light amber pour. Aroma is caramel and not much hop. Tastes bitter but not well balanced. This beer is not a good example of an IPA.
3.3Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly’s, 4/9/09
Aroma: Not too strong, mostly hops and earth, a little lemon
Appearance: Orange/amber color, light and clear, small white head
Flavor: Decent hop flavor, with some citrus sweetness
Palate: OK mouthfeel, lightish body
Overall Impression:
An overall drinkable and average IPA. I liked it, but in a style this good you need to something special to make a beer standout, and this one doesn’t have that.
3.2Amber orange, thin even lace, bitter before hop, tiny fizzies. I’m surprised this currently only has a 43% rating....deserves better. Maybe not gonna make my favorites list but still decent. Found this on sale for $6.99/sixer somewhere in SE Florida
