A rich dark ale, dominated by the strong flavours of blended roast malts that are the foundation of this beer. Smooth coffee and chocolate undertones are complemented by the addition of late harvest cone hops, giving a lovely blackcurrant aroma.

3.4Tasting from Nov’ 2014.
At cellar temperature and into a shallow chalice. Dark as midnight brown with excellent clarity as to shimmer in the lights. Dense yet compact beige pad atop lasts the length with minimal lace. The nose is deep, complex and fringes on dank, dusty, cobwebs and stagnant water cellar notes through to hinting at charred meat and Biltong, kecap manis and roasted carob with just a touch of Vegemite™. Chalky and pasty, chocolate malt dominated palate; low in carbonation with a medium light body and soft finish. A little cocoa powder, roast carob and Vegemite™, vanillin and cola which melds as sort of a creaming soda flavour. Long chocolaty, dusty and woody length. A lot more clean and streamlined from the complex aroma. This is aromatic but not the most interesting of ales inside. Easily sessionable though! (50cL, BBE 01/15, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)
3.5Dark brown, almost black, small but lasting tan head. Aroma is very nice, milk chocolate, brown sugar and coffee. Taste sweet milk chocolate and caramel in start that carries it to a more roasted dry finish. Also some low roasted acidity is present. light to medium bodied.
3.6The official description above is pretty precise. Thin palate and thin look, but amazing aroma and flavours of roasted malts, excellent dark chocolate and black currants. Nice and tart-sour, from that currant touch.

Smak: Lekko kwaskowe, palone, ciemne pieczywo.
Odczucie: Wodniste, faktura kremowa, wysycenie średnie
Całość: Lekki sesyjny stoucik, bez szału ale jako codziennie piwko byłoby OK.

3.4Bottle 500ml @ John Bull Pub, Aalborg
Pours clear reddish dark brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate and caramel. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long milk chocolate and caramel finsih. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
3.5Great chocolate aroma. Just awesome quality chocolate. Aroma is deep and long. Notes of coffee and dark malts are also present. It’s dark seal color, non-transparent, with rather poor head. Taste is similar to aroma but like divided and reduced few times. But still - it’s taste great. Perfect dark chocolate flavour with delicate bitterness on the background. It’s quite heavily carbonated for a stout. The body is rather thin. Malty aftertaste is short and rather annoying.
3.5Bottle. A rich dark ale, dominated by the strong flavours of blended roast malts that are the foundation of this beer. Smooth coffee and chocolate notes. Creamy texture. A bit of butterscotch caramel notes. Pretty good.
3.2Black colour, medium head that does not last long but shows very good lacing. Aroma is dark chocolate, roasted malt, a bit of prune. Light sweetness, light bitterness. Light body. Quite smooth, definitely not aggressive, overall good.

Overall: Quite strange beer, very herbal.
2.4Bottle from Prisma in Kovoula, Finland.
Nice fluffy Brown head over a Deep dark red beer. Aroma of Old leftover vegetables in refridgerator. Smooth light roasted malty taste with sweetness and low bitternes. Tiny body.
2.6Pours a deep ruby red. Aroma is smokey and spicy. Taste is more of the same with a good mix of rich malt smoke and a slight hop bitterness. Interesting.

Aroma: Toffee/caramel, coco pops, roasted malts.
Taste: Low/medium sweetness and sourness with low bitterness.

3.4Poured from bottle. Clear dark brown color with big beige head. Aroma of prunes, chocolate. Medium body, oily texture, low carbonation. Bitternes dominates over the sweetness. Bitterness is more from roasted malts then hoppy.
3.2Sehr dunkelbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr röstmalzig, schokoladig, dunkle Früchte. Geschmack intensiv röstmalzig, schokoladig, Kaffee, dunkle überreife Früchte.
3.6Bottle at home in London - got from some online retailer. Pours dark brown with red highlights and a creamy tan head. Pleasing aroma of lightly toasted bread, mellow cocoa, soft roast. Light to medium sweet flavor with lightly charred toast, mild milk chocolate and subtle scorched earth bitterness. Light in body with fine to average, massaging carbonation and creamy texture. Very well balanced to finish with further milk chocolate notes, more toasted and lightly burnt bread, minimal bitterness, perhaps some torched leaves. Highly drinkable beer.
3.3Coffee in scents, with roasted malts, prunes, old red wine.
Dark brown to black body, with a tan/beige half finger head upon.
Tastes roasted caramel malts, hops underneath, some coffee, and liquorice is quite tiny and only sweet. I guess it is that malted wheat.
Easy to drink, gentle to swallow.
Fruity finish, with caramel, some bitter fruity hops under, some yeast.
Overall quite good, especially considering the moderate 4.2% abv.

2.5Bottle @ John Bull, Aalborg. Clear dark brown with a lasting beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty and caramel. Flavor is medium sweet. Sweet finish. Watery. Bland. 251213
3.0500ml bottle. Pours an opaque black, with a small light beige head, which fades fairly quickly and does not leave much lacing. Roasty malt, whipped cream and milk chocolate make up the aroma. Mild peppery hops up front give way to smooth milk chocolate in the mid-palate. A touch of roasty malt comes in at the finish. There is nothing too exciting about this one; it’s simply a reasonable middle-of-the-road stout.
3.2Bottle from friend Dark chestnut brown color with medium off-white head. Aroma of dark fruits, coffee, roasted malt. Roasted malt, espresso, dark chocolate, hints of dark fruit.
