Winterkoninkske (Winter King)

Winterkoninkske (Winter King)

Beside the ‘Bloesem Bink’, you can also enjoy a second seasonal beer, the ‘Winterkoninkske’.

This beer is, just like the others, unfiltered, not pasteurized, with secundary fermentation in the bottle.

The ‘Winterkoninkske’ is the ideal beer to make a cold and chilly winter evening pleasant.

The ingredients are: seven types of malt (among which rolled oats), two belgian types of hop, brewing liqour and yeast.

Our winter beer is a dark and heartwarming beer with a pure, sugary flavour and a long, bitter aftertaste.

The alcohol content of this heavy beer is 8,3 % vol.alc.

3.9 Ale fuerte natalicia. Color muy oscuro casi negro. Espuma blanca media. Carbonatación baja. Gusto malta tostada, café, regaliz. Retrogusto ligeramente amargo y seco. Mucho cuerpo.
3.7 330 ml bottle purchased at Total Wine Pembroke Pines, FL for $4.99 Very good.
3.8 Feels like christmas is close! Lovely maltiness, caramel, toffee, dried fruits, cinnamon, licorice, moderate sweet with light bitterness. Really enjoyable winter ale
3.3 Poor is quite dark, with brown thick lacing foam head. Aroma is hoppy with some sweetness. Same is taste. A good beer. (Velp 201805)
3.6 Draught @ Albion. Murky dark brown with very small frothy off-white head that disappeared quickly, fruity aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter taste with prunes, dark fruits, alcohol undertones, caramel malt; thin body, long finish. Nice fruity brew.
Goryczka średnia do niskiej, pikantno głogowa, ładnie ukryte ABV, średnie drobne wysycenie, nieco wodnisto cukrowe w odbiorze. Ot taki przeciętny, ciemny belg...
3.0 Donker bier met kleine lichtbruine schuimkraag. Zoet! Moutig, suiker, toffee.
Appearance: pours clear dark brown with good beige soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste notes: brown sugar, light alcohol, light wood, chocolate, dried fruits, raisins and light floral notes. palette: strong malty and yeasty aroma, average carbonation, medium to full body, notable sweetness, somewhat balanced by an average bitterness, medium to long duration and an oily texture. Overall: Nice warming and tasteful winter ale
3.3 Bottle from Les Fleurs. Dark brown with a full head. Aroma of sweet malt. Flavour is sugar malt, roast sweets on a sticky bitter finish.
3.3 Bottle 0.33l at home, Nivala. BBE 12/2017. Aromas and flavours: Dryness, dry fruits, plums, chocolate, some grain, some bread and malts. Pretty heavy. Some Belgian yeast and probably better as more fresh. Some vineous elements too.
Weinig nasmaak.

4.6 bottle @ home winter warming belgian strong ale, dried peers, plums, dessert wine, caramel, nuts, biscuit, speculas biscuit licorice finish, dark chocolate, licorice, raisins, hint of burned wood, belgian yeasts
4.0 Bottle 33cl. Deep black, little carbonation. Fine office white top that fades quickly. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, brown sugar. The taste is mildly sweet at first with a sour undertone. The taste develops in a chocolate bitterness and ends in a long lasting bitterness with hints of coffee, coffee and alcohol.
4.1 Bottle at Erzbierschof Monday Club, 2012 vintage. Pours hazy darkest brown. Aroma is strong sweet malts, candy, roasted dark malts, caramel, dried figs, booze. Boozy warming palate, still caramel flavours and candy. Very good!
3.5 Barwa ciemna, piana beżowa, niezbyt trwała. Aromat średnio intensywny, palone słody, karmel, kakao. Dosyć słodko. W smaku przyprawowe, nie za słodkie. Alkohol delikatnie wyczuwalny.
3.6 Brown sugar, some alcohol, a hint of chocolate, smells syrupy, tastes oily with thick mouthfeel. A bit watery, it’s balanced and definately not a boring uncomplex brew but tastes somewhat "unbonded".
3.9 F: thin, brown, quick gone. C: dark brown, hazy. A: malt, chocolate, cocoa, raisins, molasses, candy, light red vine, hint of coffee. T: malt, chocolate, dark desert cherries, cocoa, candy, raisins, dark fruits, vinous, full body, low to medium carbonation, very nice winter warmer beer, 0,33l bottle from Prik & Tik ABC Drinks in Leuven.
4.0 Dark brown liquid, average, light brown head. Aroma of malt. Medium body, strong carbonation. Taste is sweet, bitter.
3.1 Bottle at level 42, thanks to Wingman. It pours dark ruby - brown with a thick tan head. The aroma is very spicy, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, treacle, toast and earthy roast. The taste is sweet, sticky, treacle, festive spice, candi sugar, sugared plum, Dandelion & Burdock, alcohol, ginger and dried fruits with a dry, spiced finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A pretty ok spiced Belgian strong. Couldn’t drink too much of it though.
3.5 Bottle picked up in a shop in Brugge last week. A dark brown coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Typical Belgian spice, caramel aroma. Tastes sweet, malty, dark fruit, caramel, spice. Decent Belgian winter fayre.
3.6 December 2016 - Bottle share at 1 Canada Square. Many thanks to Dave. As Kerkan Winterkoninkske anno 1878, 8.3%. Dark brown with a slight orange hue, foamy brown head. Aroma is big on the banana bread, also chalky. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste has more banana bread and foam banana sweets, bready malts and a spicy finish with some booze showing up. Quite nice. (3.6)
3.3 33cl bottle shared in CW. Many thanks to Dave for this one. It pours a clean brown color with a minimal beige head. Aroma is sweet and malty with esters and caramel. Taste is also sweet and malty, with savoury esters. Medium bodied with OK carbonation. Overall, decent
3.9 Opaque black. Small off-white head, shows nice retention and some lacing though. Aroma shows a soft yeasty and sugary base with notes of liquorice, slight spiciness and maybe a hint of dried fruits. Not super intense but definitely very nice. Taste has a caramel malts base and sugary sweetness, its both sweet and soft. Notes of liquorice, slight coffee, dark fruits more easily noticeable as the beer warms up. Again a slight hint of spiciness. Overall it’s obviously mostly sweet, but those light coffee notes and a slight hint of bitterness in the aftertaste are bringing good balance. Body is a bit lighter than your average per style, average carbonation, overall very easy but still warmingly soft. Very good stuff
Lekkere volle smaak. Mooi donker bier.
