Wolaver's India Pale Ale

Wolaver's India Pale Ale

A robust India Pale Ale. Radiates with a generous amount of hops yielding a floral aroma delicately spiced with domestic magnum and hallertauer, balanced by the slightly sweet munich and caramel malts.

2.0 Out of the bottle, apparently past it’s date, carbonation is moderate and the first few sips carried a citrusy taste but past that all I get is bitter hoppy flavor. Fans of hops may enjoy this, but I’m not.
2.4 Bottle. Pours orange, mostly clear. Smells very faintly of the forest. Taste follows with that pine flavor. A little bubbly but a nice smooth IPA.
3.1 Reviewed from notes. The appearance has a hazy orange colored body with a one finger white head that died within thirty seconds. There was barely any lacing left and very little carbonation was seen rising. The smell has some light pine and hops but there really wasn’t much there. The taste has a sweet yet spicy blend that tingled in my mouth, not bad. The pine and hops came out with some lighter fruits in the taste. On the palate, she sits about medium with a good smoothness. It had a moderate carbonation in the mouth. Overall, this was a decent brew. I might have it again.
3.2 Pours a hazy golden/amber with a small, but frothy head. Nice balance and a solid IPA, but not complex.
3.2 Alcohol, basement aromas, basement aromas, spruce, cooked vegetables, earthy, cooked vegetables
3.6 Bottle. Pours a clear orange with a thick white head. Aroma of pale malts, light fruits, light citrus, apple skins. Flavor of pale malts, light fruits, bitter hops. This is an English IPA, so not as hoppy, but it’s definitely a solid beer. 7/4/7/4/14 [3.6/5]
2.7 Aroma is quite subdued out of the bottle. The palate is stern, but not robust. Not a memorable IPA, but not bad.
2.8 Was on tap at Spatz in Providence. Earthy, dirty, bland, herbs, lacking citrus. Definitely a British style attempt, but even knowing that, it seems pretty bland to me.
2.6 Poured from a bottle cloudy golden with a white head slight aroma of citrus. The taste is of a typical beer. With a bitter after taste
2.7 From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Feint herbal aroma. Flavors of grass and mild citrus notes. Pretty mediocre IPA.
2.8 April 2011. Bottle. A bit of a bland, light IPA. Too much caramel, too little hops. Amber color with a white head. Move on to the next one.
3.1 Light aroma. Hops are prevalent, but there is an earthy quality as well. Dirty, nutty, toasty. Dry and crisp in the finish, but still a bit below the mark for an IPA.
3.3 Had on tap at Charlie O’s yesterday twenty minutes before closing. A friendly toothless Montpelierite townie had bought it for me, along with a shot of well tequila. Oh, yes, it was one helluva night. But this is decent stuff. Red rice, floral and grassy hops, and caramel. I wouldn’t ever say this was a complex beer, but I enjoyed it. Refreshing.
3.2 12 Oz bottle poured into a tulip, 1 finger lasting head with nice lacing, fruity malty aroma and tastes the same. More malty than hoppy but I prefer the latter not bad though
2.9 Bottle. Mildly cloudy, mostly clear medium amber color. Minimal initial hop aroma. More malty than hoppy for an ipa.
2.7 Long Island, NY - 12 oz. bottle poured a slightly hazy amber color with medium head and slight lacing. Aroma was hoppy but not as assertive as you would expect from an IPA. Taste and palate is where this brew took a turn towards mediocrity. Despite being USDA certified organic, I would not ponder this path again
3.7 12 oz. bottle. Organic Rocks.!! A mature beer, a top notch IPA A well balanced beer. Very nice aroma. Good hop balance. Wonderful throughout. The real deal
2.9 Draight. Orange cloudy pour. Small white head. Mild citrus and pine. Decent ; unspectacular
3.2 A bit lemony both in nose and mouth, which is nice. Good lacing, nice golden color and pleasing tart taste which otherwise lacks bite.
3.4 Draught at Rattle & Ham NYC sept 2012. Amber beer with a small offwhite creamy head. Hoppy aroma with malty notes. Hoppy and a bit fruity flavour.
3.0 Bottle. Poured a dark and cloudy orange with a decent white head that went away quickly, tones of malt combined citrus aromas; taste is almost sweet not too much bitterness (for an IPA), very nice easy to drink.
2.8 Aromas of lemon rind, tangerine, caramel, wildflowers, and subtle booze. Amber hue, white head with good retention. Barely sweet, with medium bitterness. Medium body, good carbonation, short slightly bitter finish.
2.9 Bottle. Light yellow orange pour with a nice white head. Lemon cookie, orange, tea. Some bitterness, light, slight sweetness. A bit if depth would be good.
2.5 Hazy burnt orange appearance. Aroma is full of citrusy hops, some booze and some malt. Flavor is slightly bitter but not distinguishable, malty, and boozy. Not my idea of a good beer. Perhaps it is too old (gifted bottle).
3.1 Poured a hazy amber with a medium sized head. Aroma has some orange with grains and citrus hops. Taste has more grains and bread with grassy and citrus hops. Overall it’s decent, but nothing special. I like the bread flavors.
3.3 This IPA is ok. Mild in aroma but descriptively aggressive bitterness in the flavor. Decent caramel sweetness.
3.3 Bottle. Pours hazy amber with average, creamy off-white head; decent retention and spare lacing. Aroma is oranges, cookie and bread malts, citrus fruit, floral hops, and light herbs. Flavor is grassy hops forward with supporting citrus esters and lightly sweet malts; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.
3.4 Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a medium, fizzy off-white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is fruity esters, earthy and herbal hops with cereal malt. Flavor is medium hops and bitterness with supporting malt and fruity esters with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
3.2 Poured from 12oz bottle, cloudy with thick layer of head. Citrusy notes on the nose, bitter hops for bitter sake. It?s an IPA that punches your palate on the back end.
2.3 Pours a hazy straw color. Thin white head that is leaving some lacing. Earthy sweet aroma. Bland malty flavor with some bitterness in the finish.
