Wormtown Be Hoppy IPA

Wormtown Be Hoppy IPA

Reddish-gold hazy unfiltered brew. Pungent aroma of citrus, floral spice, and grapefruit. Decidedly bitter palate with a medium light body. Flavors of hoppy grapefruit give way to a dry finish. Our Hop Back and Double Dry Hop process ensure aromatics that are in your face coupled with an obscene amount of kettle hops that should make all bitter beer fans and hop heads love Wormtown’s Be Hoppy I.P.A.!

3.8 Cask at GBBF 2019, Kensington Olympia. Lightly hazy golden. Super fresh hoppy nose. Citrus and juicy fruit flavour bomb.
3.6 Pours a slightly tinted gold, sticky white lace. Nose is heavy florals and melon. Love the bitterness in this guy. Apples, stone fruit, biscuit and some toasty malts. A good standard IPA.... Nothing amazing though.
3.5 I threw caution to the wind and picked this at random off a pub menu. More than a pleasant surprise, actually a pleasant shock. If an Oscar-winning actor were to appear in a high school play, it would be equally out of place.
3.9 From a 16 oz. can that is dated 06/03/19. Attractive golden appearance with a modest white head that fades slowly. Not a hazy NEIPA look to it. Like a traditional IPA. Lots of pine and floral hop characters on the nose. Not the citrus that they promised but just as good. Perhaps a vague breadiness below that. The mouthfeel falls in the medium range but it is smooth. 70 IBUs on this baby and it shows in the flavor as the hop bitterness scorches the back of my throat like pepper. The sweetness is subtle but the bitterness of extraordinary.
4.6 Draft. Solid hoppy aroma and flavor. Mildly sweet. Appropriately bitter finish. No off-flavors. One of the best examples of the current crop of IPAs.

4.5 On tap. Cloudy amber color. Hoppy nose and good hop flavor without a lot of bitterness.
4.6 Great taste, very smooth.
3.8 Twice sampled and rated. First at the New England Craft Beer Pavilion in Boston January 2019, second at Port 3 restaurant in Quincy in July 2021. What follows is a composite review....Pours slightly hazy gold-yellow with a small beige head and lacing. Aroma: citrus, tropical fruits and pine. Flavor: honey, caramel, mango, pineapple, orange, pine, crackers. Mouthfeel: medium-bodied, creamy yet dry, with a nice bittersweet finish.
3.9 473ml can @ TD Garden, Boston, MA. Canned 01/14 /19. Crisp, grassy hoppy and herbal with some pine, citrus and resin. Fresh and hoppy.
3.4 Draft at Legal Seafood at Logan Airport on 16 October The ale poured a clear gold color with lacing and a big off-white head. The aroma of citrus and some pine greet you. The hops selected play a large part in the complex flavors of citrus and pine resin. The pale malts selected also provide a nice malt backbone for the beer. The ale has a medium body with average carbonation. Easy to drink ale with no lingering bitterness after each swallow.
3.5 Can @ sbwf 2018. Poured golden color with a thick white head. Sweet ripe fruits with citric notes. Quite refreshing. Sessionable. Light bitter finish.
3.5 Draft with Patty at the Sea Food Shanty in Egartown M.V.. A lite amber pour with a thing white head and lace. Nice citrus hops aromas. A fresh citrus hops flavor with some pine and light bitterness made this a easy drinker. We had a good time at the Shanty.
3.4 Lovely golden colour, mild hop aroma, heavy piney and light citrus hop flavour, dry palate, reasonable carbonation, decent alcohol richness. Enjoyable

3.7 Great citrusy hoppy beer easy to drink. Great summer time beer . Not too hazy, nice lace on the glass .
3.8 On tap at Anthem Kitchen & Bar. It poured a golden color with a white head. The aroma was of hops, pine, grapefruit and florals. The taste was similar to the aroma with more hops, pine, grapefruit, florals, citrus and medium carbonation with a nice bittersweet aftertaste. Good stuff.
1.9 Move over treehouse, make room for wormtown! 🙄 Clear, thin, flat nose. If you like this, you like ballast point, and there’s no reason for you to be reviewing beers in the first place
3.8 On tap at Legends, Milford. Clear amber under a small lingering off white head. Nose is light caramel with pine and citrus with some grass. Light sweet with a medium+ bitterness. Mouth is medium slick with average carbonation.
3.4 4/21/2018 (16 fl oz draft ): Souring manderine, some grapefruit, lightly toasted malt; pale golden color with decent off white crown; sour tropical fruit and citrus, white grapefruit, moderate bitterness; medium body, average mouthfeel; very good IPA to start with today.

3.5 Bottle, taster. Tasted on the 17/03/2018 at "Barcelona Beer Festival 2018", L´hospitalet (Spain). Light golden colour with a medium off-white head. Aroma of pale malts, straw and floral hops. 4.9 What a great time in a glass! Sweet aroma with notes of the pending hop deliciousness. The lacing is excellent and taste is full and smooth. Would recommend!
3.4 Tap at Wormtown Brewing, Worcester. Color is slightly cloudy golden with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Fruits, citrus, some sweetness, hops and malts.
3.7 Hazy yellow with small white head. Grassy citrus aroma. Medium body. Moderately bitter. Citrus, hay, herbal flavors. Crisp finish. Nice.
4.1 A good look and citrusy nose is followed by a citrusy taste that may include lemon, grapefruit and others. A touch of sweetness makes this a very easy-drinking and smooth beer. We enjoyed it.
3.3 Hazy straw. Thin head. Bright pine, firm biscuity maltiness. Taste is chewier than expected. Has a little bit of that pine, but clearly the hop aroma is the emphasis here.
4.9 Fruity hopped up IPA that is so good. Go for the tall boys if you find them.
3.4 Bottle at GBBF'16, day one, 09/08/16, thanks to James. Very light haze on a golden pour with a decent off white cap. Nose is pale malts, straw, mellow hop, tangerine. Taste comprises citric peel, light grapefruit, melon, toasted grains, airy malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light hop flicker at the curtain call. Ok IPA.
3.1 On tap at MJ O'Connors. Pours a slightly hazy gold color with a thin white head not much lacing. Aroma is citrus, with some floral notes. Taste is bitter grapefruit rind with a hint of floral. Medium body with a bitter finish. A very generic IPA with not much going on.
