Wychwood Bah Humbug! (Bottle)

Available in 500ml pasteurised bottles.

NOTE: The cask version (at 4.3%) has a separate listing.

Bah Humbug is a 6% abv brew using not just the traditional malted barley and hops, but also a big sprinkling of cinnamon. The effect of the cinnamon is to give a spicy, almost banana-like flavour as often found on German wheat beers; and this blends with the sweet-honeyed flavours of the Maris Otter barley to create a beer with all the fruit flavours of mince pies, Christmas Pudding and Christmas cake all rolled into one.

3.4 500ml bottle. Poured a crystal clear chestnut brown colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is sweet malt, red berry fruit. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth rich malty sweet sugary fruit, light dry spicy, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
3.0 Light brown colour, almost chestnut or russet. Aroma of mixed spice similar to what you get with mulled wine or as mentioned mince pies. Taste is big on cinnamon, cloves and bananas - tastes a lot like a wheat beer with some caramel and malty flavours to the mix. This is my second time trying this and it is better second time around, but nothing astounding taste wise, but it is unique I guess.
3.1 Sweet grain and cereal malts, caramel, dark molasses, spices, cinnamon. Clear brown, medium, creamy, beige head. Medium sweet. More caramel, sweet, dark rye bread, toffee pie, sweet malts, spices, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Unspectacular, one-dimensional. Bottle from Wine Rack, Chiswick.
3.0 Very well balanced ruby red ale, with a Christmas twist. Subtle hints of spices and other seasonal goodness. Went surprisingly well with a Thai red curry, of all things. Very flavoursome. Not bad for just over a quid in B&M bargains.
3.7 Brown, clear with yellow creamy foam. Sweet, honey, and bonbon (perubrjóstsykur) in the aroma. Sweet, fruit, honey, with strong sweet fruity hoppy aftertaste. Quite drinkable.
3.6 God engelsk strong ale, Tilpas med sødme og bitterhed. Ikke meget smag af jul.
3.7 A: Deep red with a medium, thick white head N: Caramel and polished wood T: More caramel, with a strong hit of cinnamon. Good bitter backbone and some hints of citrus in the background P: Full-bodied O: Nice winter beer, but not too heavy. Could sip a few of these in succession.
3.2 Pours dark reddish brown with a small white head that disappears quickly. Aroma is cinnamon and spice. Light to medium carbonation. Texture is light and warming and taste has prominent cinnamon, caramel, and is a little fruity.
2.6 Appearance: clear ruby, copper with slight head Aroma: light malt and spices Palate: medium light mouthfeel. Low carbonation Taste: sweet malt initially that makes way to cinnamon Overall: an interesting beer but a little watery. Lacks a bit od robustness in palate and flavour
3.2 Spicy, shy cinnamon aroma, also some cloves, yeasty, honey cake, even some banana. Clear dark ruby color with small white head. Taste is cinnamon, banana and spices, moderately sweet with long spicy sweet finish. Thin body, watery, flat carbonation. Not exactly a winter warmer but quite nice.
4.0 Good spiced beer for the christmas season. Nice warm touch with the cinnamon, not too spicy, good balance.
3.6 Leves aromas a canela y caramelo. Buen aspecto rubi, espuma persistente. En boca maltosa y especiada levemente, muy ligera y bebible

3.3 Usually not a fan, but this one was quite nice. Mostly because I am really thirsty X) Some decent malty background, caramel, some bread, and that cinnamon that you love in one sip and hate in another. Otherwise decent brew with moderate sweetness and moderate to light bitterness with some herbal hops in finish.
3.4 orange, clear, white foam, light sweetness, medium bitterness, full body, creamy, average carbonation, long finish,
3.1 Bottle from Aldi. A slightly bland Christmas ale compared to others but after a while, one gets some lively Christmas flavours coming through.
4.8 Bah Humbug 5% abv brew, has a toffee like flavour, deep rich red colour with the taste of Christmas cake and other tastes of Christmas. A most enjoyable ALE
2.7 500ml bottle. Clear dark copper color. Small size, beige head, stays. Sweet, caramel, shy hops, malty in aroma. Sweet, lollipop, caramel, icing, bit of strawberries in taste. Sweet, strawberry-pear lollipop caramel in aftertaste. Beer is hidden. In some ways it feels like pear lemonade is mixed with beer and strawberry lollipop is the cherry on top. Weird stuff.
2.7 0.5 l bottle from a local store in Slovenske Konjice, Slovenia. Thanks Zvonko&Monika. Light spicy, light malty, toasty. Nuts and dry fruits aroma, overripe fruit or candy. Perfumed. Light body, medium carbonation, abrupt finish. Spicy after. Nice, but weak.
2.4 Hazy brown body and a small diminishing head. Heavy taste of bubblegum, banana and spices. The taste is heavy sweet and light bitter. Sticky texture.
