3.0 Una buena Porter.
4.0 500ml bottle from Tesco, Watford and drunk on 23/10/2005. Probably a huge overrating, and I wouldn’t give it close to this now, but as a 19-year-Old dark beer fan, it was a special occasion if you could find one cask stout and there weren’t many bottled options easily available. I really liked this at the time, and on the whole I think Wychwood’s beers used to be an awful lot better.
3.0 Nice black colour ....chocolate caramel , burnt malt ... palate subdued , very bitter , salivatingly so , acrid toasted malt ... a good beer , but not great ...
3.8 Bottled beer, which is thick, oily, chocolate-y and with fruity undertones. Very smooth and with only a hint of bitterness.
3.7 Bottle. Very dark brown with a dense 1/2" beige head that lasts well. Roasty aroma with coffee, some tobacco. Smooth texture, modest carbonation. Fairly dry with roast and mocha flavours, somewhat spicy and quite firm bitterness. I liked this a fair bit more than expected.
3.1 Delt med Rune på 22nd Oxford Beer & Cider Festival 2019. Svart. Mokkafarget skumring. Lett sjokoladearoma. Smaken balansert. Lettrøstet malt & lakris. Tørr avslutning.
3.3 Almost black,golden ale notes,burned,chocolate,some hops. Decent.
3.8 Black coloured, large head, frothy, roasted, medium-bodied, liquorice. Very enjoyable.
3.9 Butelka 0,5 l. Piwo czarne i nieprzejrzyste. Piana barwy bezowej, gęsta, obfita, bardzo trwała, z piękna koronką. W aromacie nuty prażone, kawy, lukrecji, czekolady, ciemnych owoców, jakby wanilii. W smaku półwytrawne, gorzka czekolada, prażoność przechodząca w paloność, ciemne słody, żywica, tytoń, finisz długi, pozostawiający na języku posmak czekoladowo-palony. Pełnie i wysycenie średnio niskie do średniego, goryczka średnio niska, palono-żywiczna. Bardzo dobry angielski porter, bogaty w smaku i aromacie, eleganckie piwo, które chętnie bym powtórzył. dość niedaleko od Guinessa, choć bardziej intensywne.
3.5 Properly black beer with kind of chocolate aroma. Good taste and funny picture on bottle.
2.8 Pretty average porter
3.8 Excellent rich face a little bit like Chaco aftertaste, with a spicy like gently sour touch. Almost as dark as Guinness, by the way not so sweet. Alarm foam on the top when pouring out from the bottle, but the foam girls down quite fast. According to me this is really nice composed beer from England.
3.3 Kakaóporos, hamus, pörkölt kávészemes, s csipetnyit nápolyis aromák lapos keveréke, melyhez nemkülönben észrevétlen, a legnagyobb jóindulattal is közepes testben kirajzolódó pirított magvas, kissé savanykás beütésű elemek csatlakoznak folyékony formában. A porterek önmagukban ritkán ejtettek ámulatba, a Wychwood főzete sem a legemlékezetesebb percekért tehető felelőssé. Mindemellett a sima ízek kedvelői örömüket lelhetik benne.
3.3 Jet black porter, tan head, poor lacing. Hint of dark chocolate and coffee on the nose. Harsh bitter aftertaste on the palate, takes a little getting used to but not unpleasant, actually quite enjoyable after a few mouthfuls.
2.5 0.5l bottle. Pours black, small head. Strong roasty aroma with notes of coffee, tobacco, some chocolate maybe. Quite bitter, average body. Not a fan of these tobacco flavoured porters.
2.8 Bonne stout mais loin d’être exceptionnelle.
3.2 Not bad. Porter not to dark
3.2 Bottle from a local bottle shop. Roasty aroma with notes of liquorice, tobacco, ash, some coffee. Roasty bitterness, modest body. Pretty nice Porter, very English with roast and liquorice.
4.0 Jet black pour, minimal head, no lacing. Smokey roasted malt smell, light carbonation on the taste with a deep roasted malt flavour, hints oof smokiness on the after taste. Coffee and cocoa aromas make this a very pleasant porter style drink and at 5% it's drinkable all night.
3.5 Pours deep black with a thin head. Aroma of roast malts, spices. Taste of roast malts, coffee, cocoa, spices. Medium carbonation. Lasting bitter aftertaste.
3.8 Közepes,tartós,masszív hab.Kesernyés ízek jellemzik.Gyönyörű sötétbarna szín.Ez egy igazán jó barnasör.
3.4 Pivo iznimno crne boje, bogate i guste pjene. Okus po kavi i čokoladi. Odličan porter.
3.4 500ml bottle. Black colour with light tan head. Dark malt, liquorice, roast, black coffee, dark fruit, cocoa beans, bit umami, soy sauce
2.8 Bottle, 500 ml. Classic style porter, black body, light brown head, traditionally low in carbo. Caramel, med-sweet coffee - simply but effective, typical British yeast smell. Smooth swallow, empty mid-palate, caramel & coffee on the palate, good IBU and a pleasent bitterness in the aftertaste. Average British porter from Marston's Wychwood.
3.9 Sehr dunkles, fast schwarzes Bier mit röstmalzigem Aroma und Dörrfrüchten in der Nase. Ausgewogener Körper, starke röstbittere.
3.8 Röstiges aroma, starke röstbittere
1.8 I would not repeat this beer again. A strange taste, maybe I'm not used to this kind of beer. Maybe it's too strong.Poor score.
2.3 On bottle. Pours deep brown, with small beige head. Scent: Lightly roasted malts. Taste: Light liquorice, malts. Texture: Watery, little round.
2.9 Bottle. Black with a nice beige head. Aroma: Hops, butter, some roasted malts, butterscotch and metal. Taste is the same plus a little bit of tartness. Aftertaste features a little bit of dark chocolate. Medium to strong carbonation. Pretty thin. Alright but I guess this will not find it's way in my shopping cart again.
