3.8 dark, rich and warming. seems a lot thicker than the bottled counterpart, but where it lacks in ABV it makes up for in smoothness and subtler flavour.
3.7 Nice looking beer smells ok taste nice defiantly one for me I shall keep buying this beer as it's s good beer
4.0 Dark rich colour with creamy head. Full bodied ruby bitter, strong tasting leaves you with a warm feeling inside. Bonus is served in branded long glass
2.6 Cask @ Yates, Luton Kolor ciemnomiedziany, przejrzysty. Piana kremowa, gęsta i zawiesista. Doskonale krążkuje na szkle i długo się utrzymuje na powierzchni. W aromacie klasyka stylu: karmel, ciemny chleb, lekkie toffi. W smaku do bólu słodowe z karmelem, biszkoptami i chlebem. Goryczka dość długa, nieprzyjemny posmak w ustach. Umiarkowana tekstura. Słabe, bardzo słabe, jeden z najgorszych Bitterów jakie piłem z pompy :/
3.2 4.5% alk. Točena piva probana u Samoboru. Iako nije posebno jaka ima pun okus, fino se osjeća njezina gustoća. Jako dobra piva. Lijep primjerak tipične engleske pive.
3.4 Cask pint at Slain’s Castle, Aberdeen. Ruby colour, creamy off-white to beige head. Malty aroma and flavour with notes of toffee and caramel, some nutty notes too.
2.3 Cask at The Northumberland Arms, Bloomsbury, London (UK). Ruby colour. Tiny head. Aroma is sweet and malty. Taste is medium sweet, toffee. Moderate bitter. No trace of bubbles.
3.0 Cask Pint at Wibbas Down (JDW), Wimbledon, London in Sept 2009 - Very Dark Brown/Ruby in colour. Malty; roast malts, caramel. Mildly fruity. Sweetish roast malty fruity leading to some bitterness from the roast malts. Drinkable but rather bland. (2009-09)
3.0 From cask. Ruby red with little head. Good rounded bitter with a bit of fruity sweetness and spice. Some breads malts. Easy drinking
5.0 This is a very tasty bitter. Has a very nice spicey character to it. Not too heavy. Not too hoppy. This is one you could drink all night
2.9 Gravity rather than handpump which is never great. A tad on the thin side. The rounded malty, fruity sweetness is there but seems somewhat muted.
3.0 On tap at The Golden Grove, Chertsey. 17/07/16. Hadn’t had this in years, but was always a favourite when I like a pint but had not really got in to beer. Little aroma. Ruby brown, as to be expected. May have been the barmaid but, as per the Gold, only a whisp of head. Fruity and sweet. Slight hint of bitterness. Pretty light in body and no carbonation. Not a challenging beer, however this at least makes it easy drink.
3.1 on cask @the crafty chandler Aroma of toast and caramel. red brown color. Very pleasant bready taste with a floral citrusy hop tone. Also some dry fruit sweetness A pleasant easy drinking bitter
3.5 500 ml can. Deep nutty color with a creamy off white head. Lovely lacing. Taste is malty bitter with a light spice and hop finish.
3.0 Bit more clear mahogany than ruby but ruby notes are there and they are visible depending on light. Light brown frothy head, medium dense, bit rocky, sticks to sides and gives some lacing well. Ok looks. Aroma is earthy and semisweet with brown bread, raisins, mild aroma. Ok but not really that inviting. Medium body, sweetish with bit syrupy nature, overripe dark fruits, bit thin almost watery feel, low carbonation makes it more evident, medium long malty finish, overripe apple in finish also. Decent but bit simple and not those tasty flavors that work even when not in a nuanced beer which is the case here.

3.1 L: Clear brown, 3-4 fingers tall thick beige head that doesn’t reduce much. S: Smells more like lager. A bit malty, a bit hoppy, dried fruits. T: Nice, the same as smell. Dry and slightly bitter finish (35 IBU I think). А: Light-bodied, low carbonation.
3.4 Can. Pours clear dark ruby with a nice head. Aroma is malts, burnt sugar, toffee and caramel. Taste is grains, barley, dark fruits.
3.2 Draught at Hobgoblin. Mostly toffee with a bit of plum and grassy notes, bittersweet finish. Decent for the style I guess but a bit too heavy for my liking.
3.3 Tasted from the tap on the 24/10/2015. Nothing special, malt and caramels predominates in this beer. Next one please!
3.3 Cask at The Linen Weaver. Deep ruby with an off-white head. Malt and caramel aroma. Flavour has some dark fruits. Pretty light.
3.2 On tap @ John Scotts Stable. Reddish amber with a medium tan head. Malty and fruity tones. Malt, fruit, caramel and hops. Medium body with a bitter sweet finish.
2.8 Punktabzug für sehr schwachen Schaum. Direkt nach dem Zapfen verschwunden. Im Aroma fruchtiger Hopfen und Karamell. Im Geschmack Punktabzug weil wässrig. Wenig Körper. Ansonsten viel Karamell, sehr fruchtig und blumig. Aber nichts besonderes.
4.1 Dark red color, medium head. Aroma caramel, fruit and hops. Taste first sweet, caramel, full body, bitter finish. Balanced taste. More bitterness in aftertaste. One of my favorite.
3.0 Tap. Dark amber colored with a creamy, tan longlasting head. The nose starts off fruity along with some toasty maltiness. Taste start mild and slightly sweet and turn more and more bitter till the finish. The fruity flavor stays but gets domanited by the bitterness at some point. The body is light to medium as is the carbonation. Very easy drinking.
3.0 On cask a t the Talbot head Rochdale nice eaasy drinker paty taste quote sweet could drink all night and be satisfied if unexcited.
3.3 Aroma malty. Nice ruby appearance. Chocolate malt flavour. Bitterness good with spice touch at the end. Nice one m
2.6 Ruby brown color with aroma of fruits. First taste was nice mild, bitterness slowly appears. Unfortunatelly, wouldn’t drink it again.
3.7 Pint from cask at Matt & Phred’s in Manchester. Nutty brown. Persistent off-white head and lacing. Soft aroma of medium dak malt, syrup and dark berries. Similar, but more pronounced taste. More bitterness and hops in aftertaste, buy still balanced with.sweet malt. Very quaffable!
3.4 Cask at The Mulberry Leaves, Leek (Marstons) A clear ruby brown colour with a creamy off white head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, subtle dark fruits and spice. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, toffee, some cherry and spicy hops. Medium bodied and quite smooth, little cold though. A roasted spiciness in the finish. A standard dark ale but smooth and tasty.
