Wychwood Hobgoblin Gold (Bottle)

Wychwood Hobgoblin Gold (Bottle)

Bottle: Filtered

While Gold might be lighter in colour, it’s definitely no lightweight. At 4.5% abv, the combination of four hop varieties and an infusion of wheat and malted barley has resulted in the perfect golden beer – with a huge hop punch. Guilt edged golden refreshment. Well what did you expect?

3.7 0,5 bottle. Finom kis gyenge ale, amiből több is lecsúszhat!
3.3 # 2787; 3/2022. Aroma fo citrus, fruits and perfume. Brilliant gold body; lacing white head. Malty, fruity, orange, perfumy, tangerine, zesty. Average british golden ale. 0,5 l, bottle, supermarket, Lincoln (Lincolnshire, England).
3.4 0.5l bottle from Auchan. Golden body, clean with a slight haziness. White pillowy foam, moderately persistent. Moderate fruity aroma with a hint of sourness and some yeast. Dry, moderately bitter taste. Aftertaste is also dry and bitter, not very strong. Moderate carbonation but strong fizzy palate. Yet, it's a bit watery. I did not like the palate very much. In summary, drinkable, correct, but not my taste.
3.4 clear golden colour, medium sized dense off-white head; aroma and taste of grassy, hay, slight citrusy and biscuity notes; correct one
4.1 0.5l can. A clear golden beer with a creamy white head and rich carbonation. Floral aroma with notes of fruity hops, sweet citrus, pears and peaches. Fruity taste with notes of flowers, honey, peaches and hops. Long floral aftertaste.
3.6 50 cl bottle (BBD 2021-04-30), bought from Kopernik Polish Supermarket Hanger Lane, drunk at home 2021-05-10. Appearance is a clear deep gold with a thick very slightly cream-tinted white head that's dense and dissipates pretty slowly. Small amount of visible carbonation. Yeah, that's quite a nice looking golden ale. Maybe a touch more visible carbonation, but this is a four cause I genuinely don't know what a perfect golden looks like. Aroma is reasonable. Nice amount of lemon citrus cutting through, perhaps a touch of green apple, some good white bread malt notes, maybe a hint of something floral or hedgerow. Hardly ground-breaking, but balanced, moderately strong and overall very solid for a golden ale. Taste builds off the nose reasonably well. Heavier on the citrus aspects than the malt - again, lots of lemon and perhaps a touch of some orange. Quite floral too. Touch of biscuit malt and grain, before a moderate dry bitterness on the finish. Again, decent. Palate is fine. Medium-light bodied, quite clean and juicy, becoming a little smoother and a touch chalky on the moderate length palate. Small but nice amount of in-mouth carbonation throughout. Could stand a bit more body and a bit more juiciness, but this works. Overall, I actually think is a pretty decent example of a golden ale. Refreshingly citrus but still with some noticeable malt, and a decent lightness. I'd like a bit more body, a little more malt in the mouth and perhaps a slightly stronger nose, but as a good example of a typical golden, I'd say this hits the mark pretty much.
3.0 Golden coloured with very large head, medium-bodied. Malty, fruity, slightly hoppy, bittery.
3.4 Bottiglia.
3.3 Bottle. Color dark yellow with medium white head. Aroma malt, grain, herbal. Taste sweet, malt, grain.
3.8 Bottle from Tesco. Pours a clear light golden colour with a medium sized throthy white head. Aromas of biscuits, bread and citrus lemon. Taste is again biscuity, bready with more citrus lemon and some added notes of toffee and caramel. Citrus and grassy hop on the finish. Medium body and smooth oily mouthfeel. Enjoying this nice golden ale.
3.2 Bottle. Slightly unclear golden color with white head. Aroma is mild butter, gummybears, juicy malts. Taste is the same. Oily mouthfeel, fruity finish. Fun!
3.5 さっぱりしててほのかに甘い。こういうタイプのビールの中ではとても好き。スポーツの後とかに飲むと美味しいやつ。
3.3 Bouteille 50cl couleur blonde dorée mousse blanche goût houblon malt, zeste de citron, assez complexe, douce
2.9 Sweet malt and finishes bitter with some hoppy notes. It's a good bear just not my taste I'm afraid. Worth a try nevertheless.

4.0 Golden color, stable white head. Fruity, great aroma of malts and hops. Taste is the same, very complex and refreshing beer. Mediukm mouthfeel and bitterness, perfect carbonation. Really good one.
3.7 Poured from 500ml glass bottle at 4.5% abv. Aroma: Bittersweet mix of hops and lighter malt with some citrus fruit notes. Appearance: Pale yellow body, mostly transparent with very slight cloudiness and small foamy white head. Taste: Refreshing mild to moderate bitterness with average malt and notes of lemon and fresh grass. Mouthfeel: Fizzy but with a bit of weight - light, not watery. Overall: Fairly standard sessionable gold ale, consistent quality and low cost. Pairs with seafood, chicken, curry.
3.4 Or limpide, fine mousse crème. Arômes : citron, fruit exotique, fleur, blé, levure. Bonne variété de houblon, mais maque de corps.
3.8 Bottle at home from my sister, 10th April 2021. Pours clear and golden, nice head. Aroma is malty, fresh brewery, hop pellets, citrus and peach. Taste is very pleasant, malts, light citrus, good balance. It’s a very nice beer
3.0 500ml bottle from Aldi (£1.19): Incredibly light & very clear straw coloured with a thin, bubbly white surface lacing on top. The nose is mainly sweet, pale malts & biscuit notes with an earthy bitterness towards the middle. The bitterness is stepped up some with the taste, its malty & slightly nutty without much variation other than a touch of citrus at the end. It's medium bodied, slightly tangy & very bitter too.
3.7 0.5l bottle. Clear golden body with a lasting white head. Aroma and taste of hay, biscuit, grass and spicy hopd. Medium bodied with lower than average carbonation. Ok beer.
3.4 bottle @ auchan (budapest) golden colour, normal body, average carbonated, smooth bitterness, bit sweet, hoppy, malty, easy to drink
1.7 Schöne Zitrusnoten im Aroma. Geschmacklich leider Klosettstein.
3.7 Bottle on 31st January 2021. Pours clear golden amber with shallow off-white foam and no lacing. Nutty caramel malt aroma. Fruity and malty in-mouth with notes of tangy citrus fruits. A satisfying finish of nutty maltiness and tangy fruits. Medium to light bodied with a zingy mouthfeel. Pleasant.
4.5 Ufff! Cerveza perfecta para este caluroso verano. Súper refrescante, estilo inglés.
2.7 Pours a golden color. Hoppy mash aroma, grassy, hay, bready,Hoppy grassy spicy flavor, hay, floral. A bit boring.
3.6 Old rating from 20-01-15 - 500ml bottle, poured at home in Jersey. It's amber with a white head. Aromas & tastes of caramel, citrus, flora, honey, biscuit & malt. Medium body. Light malty bitter finish. Highly enjoyable golden ale
3.1 Appearance: Golden, clear. Decent off-white head. Aroma: Pale malt, floral. Some hops. Taste: Pale malt, biscuits, floral. Slight hops. Smooth. Bought: Gift from wife - thanks!, 500 ml Info: 27/12-2020, BB: 30/9-2021
2.9 The aroma is very weak and weird. You get some caramel and some honey there but is like are dead. The taste is sweet in the beggining and the aftertaste leave you one strong bitterness like their classic "Wychwood Hobgoblin" beer and that is very pleasand. The carboration is in high levels and that ruin the mouthfeel little bit. The beer has some honey, caramel, grapefruit and many barley notes but nothing impressive. Remind you little an "IPA" in the begging and after one "Lager". Lastly the beer it seems very digital. Overall one "ok" beer but nothing special.
3.6 Rich amber beer, not to gassy and well rounded flavour. Another staple drink!
