3.3Bottle. Clear dark ruby/copper with a beautiful white head. Aroma of malts, red fruits, marzipan and herbal hops. Taste of malts, red fruits, toffee, biscuits, marmelade, caramel, apples and herbs. Moderate bitterness. Medium carbonation. A little bit of alcoholic warmth. Rather thin body. My description sounds great but unfortunately all the different parts don’t really mesh as well as they could. Still good though.
3.350cl Bottle @ Cerveceria Internacional, Seville, Spain.
Copper colour with a thin white head.
Aroma is malt, sweet, slightly nutty.
Taste is malt, caramel, nuts, hints of toffee.
Medium body, average carbonation.
3.4Pullo @ Alko.
3.3Dark red amber body with white head Aroma is ripe fruits malts. Taste resin malts fruits spices. Aftertaste is nice balanced.
3.350cl bottle from Alko.

3.7Copper appearance.low,fine carbonation.very malty.

3.8Aromas of confectionery and spices reminiscent of cinnamon, matched with floral and spicy hops, give us a complex aromatic.
Thick, semi-creamy and persistent foam on coppery amber liquid, dark and clear.
Caramel, candied fruit and spices brighten up the entrance.
The malt is deep, fleshy, with notes of confectionery, sweets, cinnamon and pepper.
The finish is sweet and slightly spicy.
Body is average and the alcohol well integrated.
The effervescence is quite lively, which reinforces the spicy character of the taste palette.
Well malted, spicy and fruity, this strong English beer lacks body and warmth but remains with a pleasant taste.

4.2Dark brown in colour. Taste is slightly sweet malts, herbal and dark fruits. A solid beer
3.3A small taste @ the flagship Alko, press blind tasting. Pours clear chestnut with a low creamy head. Aroma is sweet malts with strong, slightly perfumy, dark fruits. Whiff of alcohol. Flavor is slightly sweet malts with some fruity notes, plenty of alcohol and some hops. Harsh, but drinkable.
3.8How: bottle, a bit chilled. BB: 31 JUL 22
Head: off white, two fingers.
Colour: ruby, clear. Really good looking beer.
Aroma: red berries, caramel, soft chocolate notes, herbal, nuts, malts.
Taste: thin to medium body, above average carbonation, silky mouthfeel, taste follows aroma. Balanced herbal bitterness. A bit warm.
Malts& herbal in medium aftertaste.
Really nice.
3.6A coppery beer, a head is quite big and beige. Aroma has perry, some caramel. Taste has fruitness of perry, light caramel and roasted notes, some bitterness and wood. Surprisingly fresh. Medium bodied. Positive surprise, fresh and tasteful.
3.7Aroma: caramel, slight toffee, dried dark fruit, some apple.
Appearance: clear brown color with a ruby hue. Topped with a two-finger beige head.
Taste: caramel, slight toffee, dried dark fruit, slight honey, some apple and pear, medium-high sweetness, medium-high bitterness.
Palate: silky texture, medium carbonation, solid dryness in the finish despite the sweetness.
Overall: Solid malty profile with flavor of slight toffee. Its flavor, which is dominantly dried prune and raisin, is somewhat less complex as other top English strong alert, however, it is by no means a bad one.
3.6Bottle form local Asda. Some dark fruits and malts in the nose, but nothing extravagant. Pours a rich ruby amber with a small off-white head. In the mouth, what hits the taste buds first is a sharpness of apples / berries. There’s more sweetness too if you search for it. Pear drops, dark fruits, toffee, parkin, all sorts. Finish is bitter and slightly spicy. A very good beer all round.
3.4Shared bottle at Cardinal. Pours clear dark copper with off-white head. Aroma of caramel, some fruity esters. Tastes slightly bitter with some sweetness. Medium bodied.
3.20,5 l bottle from Systembolaget, Motala. A long time did not taste this sort of beer, but its OK to drink.
3.5Notas frutales y aromática , cuerpo ligero, carbonatacion media.
3.250 cl bottle (BBD 2021-04-30), bought from Kopernik Polish Supermarket, drunk at home 2021-02-28.
Appearance is a basically clear deep ruby with a thick pretty dense pale beige head that lasts a very long time. Barely any visible carbonation though. Love that colour, and the head is doing good things for me too.
Aroma is honestly disappointingly faint. A touch of brown bread malt, a touch of char, a touch of wood, but nothing distinct. What's there is pleasant, but it needs to be an awful lot stronger.
Taste, thankfully, is far superior. Very rich - plenty of woody notes and sharper berries, along with burnt caramel and maybe even a hint of milk chocolate. A strongly earthy but surprisingly mellow overall bitterness towards the finish. Very nice.
Palate is also good. Full, thick and creamy, with some in-mouth carbonation to offset it and a long smooth finish. Nice hint of fizz at the end of the finish too. Works well.
Overall, this would be a great beer if it had any nose - literally any nose. As it is, this is actually still pretty decent. Rich and decadent, steering into the wood and char notes that really work well. Just need something on the nose now.
3.6Bottle from an online shop. Medium reddish brown amber, small head, mild nutty grain on the nose. Flavor: decently big body, nice creamy nutty biscuit mouthfeel with a bit of dryness, really nice earthy hop flavor to round it out. Much better than I expected in fact. Nice break from sextuple hazy crazy West New England kveiky wild lager ales.
3.4Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 11C). Bottle 50 cl - Batch LA0244 15:53 (BBF: 31 AUG 2021). AROMA: medium caramel aroma a bit with an artificial feel, followed by medium-low toasty malt, low resiny hops, medium-low metallic note, faint diacetyl. APPEARANCE: orange-ish to ruby color and cristal clear. medium beige head, creamy, with good retention. leg formation. TASTE: similar to the aroma with initial caramel flavor, slight toasty, low citrus (oranges) esteres and resiny hops followed by high bitterness. slight butterscotch. finishes dry, very bitter and caramelly. MOUTHFEEL: medium to meidum-low body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: an ok english strong ale.
3.5500ml bottle. Deep brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma is malty, biscuity, toffee. Taste is sweet, malty, toffee, caramel, biscuity, ends with an assertive bitterness, slightly metallic. Medium bodied.
Hm...50cl....
3.6500ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, ruby-amber colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, slowly osteoporosing, re-settling, moderately lacing, light beige head. Sweet-ish, floral-herbal-fruity hoppy, minimally sugary, malty aroma, notes of lemon tea, black tea, Earl Grey, hibiscus, bergamot, orange blossom, red berries, a touch of marmalade. Taste is dry, floral-fruity hoppy, sweet-ish, minimally sugary, malty, notes of red and blue berries, hints of hibiscus, Earl Grey tea, bergamot, a touch rose hip, orange blossom, whiffs of chamomile.
Dissolved-sugar enriched, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, fine and soft carbonation.
Light and drinkable, very nice floral flavours - good.
3.1500 ml bottle from Systembolaget. Clear amber copper with white head. Heavy malty with english yeast, biscuits, fruit, marmalade and herbs. Semi dry with medium bitterness and medium carbonation.
4.0500ml bottle brewed in England at 6.6%. Clear bronze with a decent, so-so duration head. Figs, raisins, a little chocolate and cranberry in the aroma - great, if not especially potent, and fitting for a 'darker' Hobgoblin. Moderate carbonation. Chocolate malt, faint cookie dough backing it up, with cranberry hops giving a little bitter tang to finish, alongside touches of leaf. Mellow strawberry suggestions, and some very mild mid-notes of fig and raisin. Well, for the price and availability, you can't complain. Decent strong dark version of the original Ruby ale. Well-balanced, with plenty going on.

3.4500ml bottle, served cellar temperature, in a pint barrel glass. Dark russet ale, with a tight off head. Sweet fruit aroma. Christmas cake flavour, hint of alcohol, slightly malty with a hint of bitterness in the after taste. Good head retention, one of the better bottled winter ales.
