Yazoo Dos Perros

Yazoo Dos Perros

Many Mexican beer styles today are descendants of old Austrian styles, from when Austria ruled Mexico in the late 19th century. Our Dos Perros is made with German Munich malt, English Pale malt, and Chocolate malt, and hopped with Perle and Saaz hops. To lighten the body, as many Mexican brewers do, we add a small portion of flaked maize. The result is a wonderfully bready malt aroma, balanced with some maize sweetness and a noble hop finish.

2.4 Lightly sweet with a toffee-and-caramel middle with mild coffee notes. Come across both too sweet and too light; needs firmer hopping to shore up the sugariness that comes as it warms. Mild Saaz finish, but the fade is fast and forgettable.
3.6 Love this beer on all occasions. If you are grilling out in the backyard, this will go with most anything.
3.4 On Tap at Yazoo Brewpub, Nashvil, TN, 5.5.16.Clear dark brown. Malty, syrupy and a little nutty aroma, malty taste with a little bit of alcohol, some caramel and nuts. Medium-bodied, quite carbonated, delicate malty finish.
3.0 Draft at Puckett’s Grocery, Nashville. Clear amber with a white head. Aroma and taste of bread, caramel, and malt. It’s rather mild overall, but decent.
2.8 Aroma: malty; Appearance: dark amber with white head; Taste: bready and malty; Palate: medium-heavy body with odd aftertaste; Overall: okay but a bit watery. Would not buy again.
2.5 Light brown. Smells very malty. Lighter than its smells. Malty and coffee flavor. A bit watery and mind. Pass
3.3 On tap @ Yazoo. Clear amber colored beer with a small off-white head. Bread and toasted malts on the nose. Somewhat earthy and definitely pretty grassy. There’s sort of a burn grain/popcorn flavor to it that adds a substantial bitterness. Maybe a bit of roasted malt and coffee, too.
3.1 Draft pour. The beer is a clear copper color with a white head of foam. The aroma has toasted caramel notes and bready dough. The taste is moderately sweet and toasty. Medium body and medium carbonation.
2.2 (5) Average at best. Fun beer. Had expected a bit more from the Yazoo guys - the beer needs more power for a better score.
3.0 Dark brown pour. Light citrus aroma with a thin, watered down body. Flavor is of sweet malts with a finish of alcohol and carbonation.
3.3 Bottle shared by alexsdad06 pourm clear amber with thin ecru head. Nose crystal malt, toffee, clean malt. Taste similar to nose, sweet malt, toffee but no off putting flavors. Not special but not bad.
2.8 Flaska @ Hutton Hotel, Nashville, Tn.
2.9 Bottle Erica brought back for me. A dark clear brown altbier with a thin big bubbled mocha head. In aroma, light sweet nutty malt and dark fruits. Flavors are a light sweet nutty malt with light peated notes, a bit watery.
3.0 Pours a dark amber from a bottle with a light khaki head. Aroma of caramel, flavor of bread and coffee. Okay beer.
2.3 På fat @ Hard Rock Cafe i Nashville. Mörk brun färg. Doft och smak av rostat kaffe och mörk choklad.
2.5 Light brownish pour. Some chocolate, Bready, some sour corn off flavor, not my favorite.
3.1 Easy drinking beverage with a tad too much sweet sourness from the corn. Rather watery.
2.6 Very pretty to look at, dark brown with a red hue. The aroma is malt sweet with caramel and bread. The flavor seemed a bit off, kind of a metallic sour taste. A little thin.
3.1 bottle. Mahogany brown with one finger head. Chocolate and bready, with a very light sweetness. Mild hop bitterness. Not bad, but doesn’t seem like a classic alt either.
3.3 12 ounce thans to John. Dark malty pour. Chocolate - to a small extent and heavy malt.
3.6 roasty, coffee, chocolate, smoke, black, minimal head, light sweetness, lightly bitter, medium bitterness, lightly bitter, medium bitterness, medium body, oily feel, flat, long finish,
3.5 Aroma is heavy bready malts and chocolate. Taste is similar. I enjoyed this and would have again.
3.4 Bready malt aroma, sweet maize finish, dark color. I really enjoy this as an easily enjoyable brew. Some citrus but maybe it's the lime on the glass lol.
3.1 Buttery malt, somewhat caramelly, herbal bitterness from the hops, which came across more americanized than I would expect from Perle/Saaz. In many ways this beer reminded me a lot of Fat Tire, and I don’t like Fat Tire.
2.1 ベニススタイルラガー 酸っぱさがある、スッキリしたビール
3.1 Tasted on 9/4/11 from a 12oz bottle purchased as a part of a twelve pack sampler at Midtown. Pours clear, dark amber, with a thick off-white head that slowly recedes to uneven lace, leaving thick residue along the inside of the glass. The nose is roasted chocolate and caramelized malt along with the same vegetal aroma that I generally get from Altbiers, and some underlying herbal and lightly spicy hops. The flavor is lightly sweet chocolate, and lightly roasted caramel malt along with underlying spicy and citrus hops. The body is medium with average carbonation, and a long chocolate malt and spicy hops finish.
3.1 Bottle, brown pour, white head, nose is hoppy, taste is bitter, caramel, nutty, good
3.3 Received via trade with bluesnbarbq. Muchas gracias mi hermano!! A nice beer, super easy to drink. Reminds me in some ways of what a quality Negro Modelo might be like if it wasn’t made on a mass scale. Aroma is kinda like a salted caramel chew, light fruit and dried golden raisins. Apart from the drinkability of this beer, the flavor was the best part. Lightly roasted, subtle chocolate notes and really nicely balanced with a light bitter finish. Nice!
2.7 On tap at Nashville airport. Brown pour, thin light tan head. Roasty smoke aroma. Tastes are malt, light cocoa, herbal. Grainy water.
