2.8 Nice nose with clove and banana coming on strong. Too light on the palate, watery and thin. Slight bubblegum notes. Kinda weak. Watery wheat rather than a robust weizen. Disappointing.
4.0 From a bottle at a conference. And it is free. Best of the Yazoos I have had.
3.8 Aroma is sweet and tart with typical wheat character. Flavor is crisp and refreshing with moderate spiced wheat.
4.4 Poured from the tap into a pint glass at the Grainary in Mount Pleasant, SC. The appearance is a lightly murky gold color with a small white head. The aroma is banana and some wheat. The taste is wheat and cloves with some banana in the background.
3.4 Draft. Pours cloudy orange. Has a great palate. The taste is banana and strawberry. Decent
3.2 A bit thin and mild for a hefe, not reaching much banana-clove depth, instead coming off bready as all hell. Mild grassy sweetness against a yeast backbone, not aggressive but firm, with a slight floral hop finish. Good nose, good looks, but the feel’s slack, too slick for a sparkly hefeweizen. Not their best beer, not their worst. Eh.
3.2 Straw color with a medium sized white head. Yeasty scents, with bananas, cloves, bread and rubber. Some pale malt and wheat sweetness. Creamy feel. Some bubblegum and wood sap flavors. 4/13
3.5 Draft. Strong banana aroma with hints of bubble gum. Very cloudy pale orange. Medium mouthfeel with creamy and grainy wheat. Solid.
3.0 Light banana and bread yeast like a bakery. Hazy yellow pour. Watery consistency. Tap at brewpub.
4.0 Draft pour at the Nashville Airport. The beer is a hazy gold with a white head of foam. The aroma has a big banana ester presence. Creamy vanilla and spice comes through in the taste. Spicy and sweet. Medium body and medium carbonation. Spritzy mouthfeel. Really good overall.
4.0 Hazy yellow pour with white head. Aroma is banana and yeasty. Taste follows nose, but not up to the nose. Pretty good.
3.5 On Tap at Yazoo Brewpub, Nashville, TN, 5.5.16.Opaque blond. Plastic, apricot, clove and banana in the nose, juicy, fruity tartness, banana and apricot in the mouth. Fizzy, full body, some more clove and fruity finish.
3.3 Bottle - pour looks good - turbid orange - texture in the mouth has a nice froth to it - flavor is kind of sweet, with a dull yeastiness to it, lacking a lot of the esters and phenols I look for in the style, although this is slight pepper and very faint hints of clove - mostly what I taste is sweetness, wheat, and yeastiness - it’s alright, though.
3.4 Hazy deep golden with no head, even when poured with vigor. Interesting nose that’s obviously wheat centric but has an interesting black pepper note to it. Crisp flavor with some doughy yeast, a crisp German blonde ale dryness, a little pepper and clove. Clean and straightforward.
2.8 Pours a hazy yellow with bubbly white head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma and taste of mild wheat and more American esters to me than German. Eh, not that exciting and perhaps the wrong yeast.
2.7 Light golden color. Strong banana and yeast flavor. Tastes a bit watery. Not very impressive.
3.9 Pours a hazy bright yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is banana, clove, spices, pepper, and bubblegum. Flavor is bubblegum and banana. Tastes sweet. Has a medium body. Pretty good stuff.
3.5 Cloudy, yellow pour with a white head. The aroma has banana, herbal hops, and hay. It has a light body with slightly oily texture and lively carbonation. The taste is sweet with a long, easy finish.
3.4 Fat @ Beer Sellar, Nashville. Dimmigt gul, vitt skum. Dofter och smaker av banan, apelsin, koriander och jäst. Halvtorr munkänsla. Något tunn kropp, men oerhört lättdrucken och frisk.
3.2 12 oz bottle from shrubber85. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have mild sweet banana and bubblegum character, yeast, pale malts, light bread, some citrus, thin, nothing is too big here.
2.6 Hefe/Belgian white smell... very light slightly cloudy appearance, taste is a bit like bubble gum, sweet and sour, medium strength, carbonated taste....not very good IMO x2 from 9/22/15 to 10/17/21 decent mouthfeel...I find very low carbonation now... Improved .4 points....had with Liz at Transmission Arcade on third date after going to the Whig.. US covid deaths approximately 725k..
3.3 Cloudy straw/gold color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of wheat, yeast, bananas, & clove; Flavor of malt/wheat, yeast, bananas, clove, and citrus; Pretty decent.
3.4 Poured from 12 ounce bottle purchased from Kroger in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, tasted on July 20, 2015. Cloudy golden hue, strong banana/clove aroma, zesty carbonation bordering on overdone, nicely balanced banana/spice flavor that doesn’t overdo the clove. Quite good for style.
3.1 Cloudy yellow, white head. Primarily banana and clove here, light citrus. Somewhat soapy. Ok but not great.
3.9 12 oz. bottle thanks to weihenweizen, nice brew. Label reads 3-5-15. Really? Most wheat brews fall off quick, this didn’t. Big yeast phenols, banana, clove and light spice. The yeast profile is about as authentic German as you can get, nice esters. Body is medium with a light chewiness. The finish has the sweetness plus light spicy notes. Nicly made.
3.5 12 ounce bottle thanks to John. Light hazy yellow color. Light taste, banana expected flavor. Ok.
3.6 Cloudy gold with a white head. Nice banana flavors, light clove, some yeast and doughy malts. Tasty but not spectacular.
3.5 Banana wheat hefe smell. Taste is wheaty hefe with a dash of banana but not much. Overly high carbonation with some foam.
3.9 Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle from shrubber85 poured into a weizen glass. Aroma is big clove, medium/light body, medium/light body, medium/well carbonated, little small-bubble lacing. Taste is clove, banana, bubblegum, and yeasty backbone. One of the finest American hefeweizens I have had.
