2.7Bottle at the Columbia inn in ybor city.
Enjoyed during lunch with my son Brendan, we are in town for my niece lia’s wedding. Color is similar to yuengling, with an off white head. Tast is on the sweet and malty side and it is a little watered down.
1.112oz bottle, yuck! .dirty yeast aroma with fresh veggies and cooked carrots. Clear, yellow body with a big foamy white head. Strange paint pucks flavor with sweet yeast notes. Medium body. Weeeeird, not in a pleasant way.
2.9This beer pours a clear copper-gold color with a medium thin light beige head that dissipates slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet malt and floral hops. Light body with flavors of bready malt, grassy hops and a touch of yeast. The finish is mildly hoppy and short. Pretty average overall.
2.2[Bottle] Pours a light copper color with virtually no head. Grainy, grassy and dusty aroma. Tastes like a light lager despite the amber color. Overly sweet and light in body. Weird vegetal and corn syrup notes linger. Not very good at all.
2.712oz bottle from a beer of the month club. Pours clear dark golden with white head. Aromas of grains and grassy hops. Flavors of grains, toasted sweet malts, and some grassy hops. Mouthfeel is thin. Not a ton of flavor, but not bad for the style.
0.6Smells like beef stew, disgusting. The taste is not far off, beafey and salty, gross.
2.4Poured a golden amber with a decent white head. Hay and toast aroma. Thin texture, soft carbonation, medium body. Slightly sweet with light malt flavor. This beer is just okay.
2.7Passable beer for a long flight delay. Yellow colour, foamy head. Cheese aroma head. Smooth drinking, very light toasty malts, average mouthfeel. mild bitterness in finish.
Delta lounge, Tampa airport.
1.6Reluctantly purchased this beverage for a beer-slumming friend whose family was staying with mine during a Spring Break visit. Nothing special out this brew, other than its appearance and malt flavor. However, I’m happy to support the local brewers in Melbourne.
2.6Bottle. Hazy amber body. Thin, off-white head, slowly diminishing. The aroma has notes of toasted grain and toffee with a hint of honey. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Sweet and grainy taste with a hint of corn. Average.
2.5bouteille.
3.2Golden off white head. Corny clean aroma. Taste is more corn, sweet malt.
2.0This "amber" is more akin to a dark, copper tinged gold, in color, and lacks much additional flavor or body to take it above your average BMC beer. I wouldn’t seek this out if you’re looking for something good.
1.8Has a slight hoppy aroma and a somewhat bitter taste. A little toasty with maltiness. Not that great all around.
3.5Ybor City Brewing Company--YBOR Gold--2000 12 oz. Bottle. 4.90% ABV. 23 IBU’s. (4.0 / 5.0) Pilsner Lager? Clear rich golden color. Light prominent floral hop front. Malty lightly toasted body with mild tasty clean crisp caramel and hop flavor. Satisfying slightly chalky very mild spice end. Sampled 11/15/2000.
Ybor City Brewing Company--YBOR Gold--2002 12 oz. Bottle. 4.70% ABV. 21 IBU’s. (3.75 / 5.0) Pilsner. Malt of the Earth Beer of the Month Club Selection. Clear thin bright golden color. Light head and lace. Mild floral Saaz like hop front. Crisp clean light citrus butterscotch pilsner malt body. Crisp tangy mild hop citrus end. Unexceptional. Sampled 12/17/2002.
2.812-oz bottle. Clear golden color, frothy white head. Aroma is bread, dark berries, and sweet malts. Taste is bready with some honey sweetness. Some grassy hops are also evident. Flat cardboard finish. Soft carbonation. Light body and clean watery texture. Very drinkable. Better than most.
2.4Bottled. Poured healthy, medium golden with a creamy, sticky cap of beige head. The aroma picked up honey and cardboardey sweetness upfront with dusty yeast and light grassy accents.. touches of fruit and detergent on the back along with oddly-placed, off-putting berries. The flavor found honey and berries again at the core.. very light bitterness around.. finished dusty and dirty with more of the berries. Light-bodied with lower carbonation on the palate.. not a great feel, but not bad.
2.8Robust golden color, white frothy head. Aroma is bread and sweet malts. Flavor is hugely yeast/biscuit--lots and lots of yeast. Only other flavor I’m getting is some malty sweetness and a slight alcohol presence on the finish. Not really detecting any hops in this one. There are definitely worse beers out there, but the breadiness is a little out of control--and I like bready beers.
1.912oz Bottle: Pours orange, heavily carbonated, no head provided. Aroma is mostly apple juice, which I found very odd but confirmed with my table mates. It’s harsh in the mouth with excessive carbonation, some non-descript hops with those apples again. This is just a weird one, not sure what to make of except I don’t really want it again.
2.4Clear golden orange with a very small white head. Aroma of malt and caramel. Flavor of malt with some caramel candy, mildy bitter finish. Not too exciting, but better than many in Florida.
2.612oz bottle. Deep golden pour. Aroma of straw\hay. Flavor is a bready malt, some vegetable sweetness. Floral hop bitterness. Very light bodied. Refreshing on an unbearable hot summer day.
2.3Bottle from Total Wine St. Pete. Pours dark straw with 2-finger white head. Some caramel malt, mild hopcitrus, and slight honey in the nose and flavor.
2.912oz bottle. Cloudy orange-tan color, minimal head, but lot of CO2 bubbles nonetheless. Minimized malty aroma. Medium bodied watery sweet amber malt taste, not so impressive but also not so offensive. Soapy, minimal hop balance. Some light honey tastes. Not a classic, but sessionable.
3.3Poured a golden-reddish tint, with medium thick white head that lasted thru mid glass, yet left little lacing. Aroma and taste were both very muted, yet what was there was a fruity hop. Smooth drinking and thirst quenching. I found this to not have too many characteristics, good or bad. An average beer all around.
1.3(12oz bottle, courtesy of Bman1113vr) Pours a clear golden body with a small white head. Aroma of corn, grain, and mustiness. Flavor of cardboard, nuts, and toasted grain with a dry finish.
2.3Bottle from daknole, thanks again. Gushed like crazy but finally poured a lightly hazed yellow amber with a ridiculously huge white head that eventually leaves some nice lacing on the sides. Smells like metal and old grain. Tastes like slightly sour sweet milk, and not in a good way. Finishes with a little bit of acidic bubble gum before a bitter lager aftertaste. Not pleasant. Drain poured this one.
2.9Thanks to Daknole. Golden yellow pour with white head. That dissapated quickly. Aroma of malt. Somewhat creamy- crisp aftertaste. Leaves a little sweetness in the mouth. Better than macros.
2.6bottle thanks to bman1113vr. light amber pour with no real head. nose is malts, caramel and not much else. pretty bland flavor as well.
2.4bottle thanks to bman1113vr. poured a dark gold with either no head or one that disappears quickly. aroma was maybe some fruity notes and slight caramel. flavor was caramel with some strange tartness. light body and really high carbonation.
