1.9 3/9/18 With A just hanging out. Finished ophtho today. Poured from bottle. Clear amber with a light foamy head that quickly vanished. Smell is nice. Some malt and a bit of funky hops. Taste is sweet light caramel malt with light soda-water bitterness. Pretty full/flavorful for what it is. Palate is light and super carbonated. Overall, this tastes like a malty seltzer water. It’s not bad and it’s certainly chuggable but I’m not a fan of the carbonated bitterness.
3.7 Pours an unusual light amber color. One finger white head. Moderate retention, light lacing. Clear. Doesn’t look like a light beer. Aroma is bready and sweet. Butter, bread, malts. Light grassy and floral hops. Flavor is malty, buttery, sweet. Perhaps a little watery. Mouthfeel is light and watery. Smooth. Highly drinkable. Overall, reminds me much of Sam Adams Light. Good flavor, good color. Is it really a light beer? I recommend it and I would buy it again.
1.6 Can at Wells Fargo Center. Clear amber with a decent white head. If only it smelled or tasted as good as it looked. Weak, watery and disappointing
2.5 Yuengling Light Lager - A staple at parents’ house. Became a staple of my night caps, when taste buds are tired and few calories needed, but still wanted, before sleep. The thing is, these kind of beers seem to go down faster, as if proportionally for the calories, like dog years. Good thing they buy it by the case. What can I say, it’s one of my mom’s faves. I drink it almost faster than I can taste it, the primary characteristic it holds is drinkability - refreshing, quenching and fills the belly with tingly goodness, yet less of the guilt. Would be great to shotgun, especially as an adult, in my parents’ house #throwback Next time I visit with my son we will both shotgun one near that pond out back. Cascade hops lend some familiarity to more exceptional brews, nice touch. @yuenglingbeer #yuenglingbeer #shotgun @shotgunbeerreview @shotgunbeer #cascadehops #lightbeer
2.2 Clear amber color with a small off-white head and fair retention. Spotty lacing. High carbonation. Watered down light caramel club soda-like body and flavor. Reminds me of (and only slightly better than) a N/A beer. Disappointing.
1.2 Bottle from Tops. Clear golden coloured. Light malty, a bit skunky, carton, some grassy hops.
2.0 12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden deep orange. Small white head. Aroma is toasted malt, slight grainy. Toasted, flat malt. Cardboardish. Flat finish.
1.6 a good light beer, better than their regular lager becuz it is in a brown bottle. Has a good taste, but there is a sharpness to it, almost like a hops bitterness, but I dont think it is the hops, since it isnt bitter. The taste wasnt horrible, just not smooth like a German beer. But, there is an issue with the taste, it does not have an obvious slant toward malt or hops, surprisingly, since it IS a USA brewed beer. By law, USA beers MUST HAVE 250 lbs of hops in each bottle, along with 14 spices, 6 types of fruits and grandma's quilt. Sheeeeesh, USA "craft" beer sux. Has anyone told them the reason they are sold hops is becuz it allows the beer to remain on the shelf longer??????? Gee, what about the famous "freshness" date all crafties SCREAM about???
2.8 Can. Pours a light amber color with small tan head. Very sweet aroma with malty notes. Sweet flavor with barely noticeable hop notes to balance. Light bodied. Not bad among light beers.
2.2 Can. Light, mild lager. Nothing really to add other than it’s like all other pale lagers
2.1 My doctor put me on a low carb diet. The nutrition info was not on the box, it is just on the cans. Carbohydrate content is 8.5g per 12 oz., rather high for a light beer. For example Michelob Ultra is 2.6g and imo tastes better. The carb content of Lord Chesterfield Ale is 12g, so I’m sacrificing a lot of enjoyment for minimal carb reduction.
3.4 Solid light. I’m probably being tricked by caramel color but this seems to have a pretty solid grain character and even a kiss of hops. Real low in ABV too which I can get behind.
2.9 I respect any Brewery that has been around nearly 200 years, but I was hoping for something more. This beer isn’t bitter, isn’t spicy, isn’t sweet. It isn’t much of anything unfortunately. It tastes watered-down and flat. It is, however, very easy to drink. Not bad, but not good either. Extremely low ABV.
2.5 Aroma and flavor is mild malts, a hint of fruit and a slightly tart/smooth finish. Not bad actually.
1.7 Average beer, not great!. From the outside looking in this beer seems great, but once you taste it, that’s when you realize is not all that.
2.7 Can. Light amber pour with light head. Mild malt, sweet aromas. Not much to this flavor, amber malt, but better than the normal light beers.
2.5 For some reason Yuengling is extremely popular in New Orleans. I’d like to do some research into why!
2.4 Darker than expected, a light amber with a small white head. The aroma is somewhat toasty, with light caramel notes. The flavor is a lot lighter, somewhat metallic, and strong carbonation. Seemed nice till I tasted it.
2.1 Bottle to plastic cap at Robert’s Western World, Broadway, Nashville, TN, 4.5.16. Clear amber. Light malt and limestone aroma, sweet and wort and oxidized taste. Light body, worty and oxidized finish.
2.0 Well, its a highly watered down version of the regular Lager. You can barely make out the familiar malt profile but alas it is not terrible. However, I would never choose this over a regular Lager!
1.8 At a fantasy football draft, finished the growler and single that I brought. There was a bunch of these and regular Yuengling in the fridge, so figured I’d grab a Y’ Light to review since I never sampled. Basically a watered down version of Yuengling. Not much more to say.
1.9 Bottle -Pours pale amber, not much head. Faint aroma, hint of pale malt. Watery flavor... buttered biscuit, very mild hops finish. Meh.
1.8 Poured from a tap. Medium clear copper color, medium frothy white head. Not much of an aroma. Light body with a light slightly skunk malt flavor and a light finish.
1.5 Bottle to shaker glass, pours clear amber. One finger quick white head, no lacing, slight retention. Aroma of corn and hay. Taste is lightly sweet, just a hint of bitterness. Very light bodied, soft carbonation, watery mouth feel. Finishes dry. It has more flavor than most light beers, which is about all I can say about this offering.
2.3 12oz can. Medium off-white head that mostly dissipates atop crystal clear deep amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, some corn, light spicy. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, cereal/corn, light earthy. Light body, faint stickiness. Perfectly adequate, which you can’t say about many "Light" beers.
2.1 Not too shabby. Not great, sure. Light, watery. BUT its a good clean true lager flavor in there. If you have to drink a light lager, its a good choice. Moderate cereal presence, light hopping but actually detectable hop bitterness.
2.2 Always an option. Watery version of pretty much a watery beer, retains some of the sweetness. It's okay
2.7 Amber with a quickly disapating white head. Smells slightly sweet. Not much flavor but easy to drink.
2.1 Draft at the Elks Club in Maynard. Light clear brown. Mild malty lager, some flavor but very very light and clean. Ok.
1.8 I think we drank this in college. It was watery crap I know I’m as shocked as you are right now.
