2.2 Pours a hazy light golden yellow. Aromas of straw/grass/hops. Flavors of light fruitiness, caramel malts, mellow hop finish.
2.5 Bottle. Clear pale yellow color, white coca cola head. Aroma of cereal and ripe fruit. Taste is light summer fruit.
3.2 Poured from a tap. Clear golden color, medium white head. Light floral hops aroma. Medium body with a nice slight floral flavor and a medium finish.
2.2 I had it from the bottle. The aroma is grain and fruit. The taste is slightly sweet with a grainy quality to it. It’s crisp and dry. It’s a decent session beer. There’s not a lot going on. It’s inoffensive though.
1.6 My least fav yuengljng product, green bottle shocked maybe it always tastes inappropriately sour, and too Strawy. Slightly fruity sweet too
3.8 Grainy aroma which reminds me of a Czech Pilsner. Clear golden color with a fine film of bubbles for the head. Has a light grain and zesty taste. The light body is refreshing. Clean finish.
2.6 Bottle. Corn/barley malt and straw aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Lightly sweet vegetal barley malt and moderately bitter herbal hay flavor. Decent body. Probably would have been a bit better if it wasn’t in a green bottle.
2.7 Clear darker yellow, lots of carbonizing. Big white lasting lacing foam head. Strong barley aroma, don’t like that. OK taste, not outstanding, barley and yeast dominated. (Chicago 201510)
2.3 Th beer pours a slightly hazy orangeish golden color with a small white head. The aroma has a strong dough yeast smell, but there is also a pale malt sweetness and a hint of fruitiness. The taste is mildly sweet and slightly sour, and the sweetness hits the tongue first with more sour, slinky, and even slightly fruity flavors developing later in the taste. The palate fuses a a slick texture, medium body, and a soft carbonation. Overall, it’s not bad, but it’s not too good either.
4.4 Younglings best entry. I must admit you will either love or have this. Fruity taste yet bitter. Each sip tastes different. The only Yuengling beer still made in original brewery. Only drawback is I get a headache from drinking it. That’s what ibuprofen is for
2.7 On tap at Taproom on 19th. Pours a clear gold with large frothy off white head that lasts. The aroma is grass and wheat. Thin mouth with metallic flavor, wheat, skunky, decent.
2.5 Drank from a can. Crisp bitter taste. Slightly metallic, slightly malty. Medium high carbonation and lighter mouthfeel. Pretty bland stuff.
2.9 Transfer from BA review on 10-19-13- Poured from green bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a nice golden color with a two finger billowy white head. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a good level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – As may be expected from a green bottle, the brew has a bit of a skunky aroma. Along with the skunk are some aromas of a grainy nature as well as some smells of corn. Taste – The taste begins with a grainy and corny taste. While corny, the taste is not too sweet, but on the moderate side. The grain smooth’s out taking on a more bready flavor as the taste advances. Along with the transition of the grain to bread, there is also an increase in the hop, which too this point were very minimal. A bit of a grassy and herbal nature as well as a little bit of a hay like flavor are all present at the end leaving a lightly hopped, moderately sweet and smooth bready flavor, with only a hint of skunk flavor, to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is on the average to slightly creamier side for the abv and the style with a carbonation level that is on the slightly lower side. Both were decent for the brew, but nothing too exceptional. Overall – Not the best brew out there, but if it wasn’t in a green glass bottle it likely would have been slightly better due to lack of any “skunk”. It was sort of a Heineken/Yuengling hybrid. Easy drinking but nothing too great.
3.0 Pour a pale yellow with a thin white head with just a little lacing. Aroma is of bready malts, light cereal malts, sweet malts, grassy hops, herbal hops, and a little pine. Taste is about the same as the aroma. Has a medium-light body with a watery mouthfeel and a sightly dry, medium-short finish. Overall, a rather poor golden ale that I find to be too light and not as good as Yuengling’s lager.
5.0 One of the best beers I have ever tasted. Crisp, clean and refreshing. An excellent beer during all seasons.
3.1 Pours a golden yellow with a nice white head. Aroma is a little yeasty with a touch of malt. This is a light beer yet bitter on the backend. Has a little hoppy bitterness and a tad bit of that green bottle skunkiness. To me, tastes like an old ale. Pretty good stuff.
2.2 12oz bottle poured into a shaker glass. Clear golden color with a medium white head. Soft grassy nose, with faint malt and some grains. Some papery notes. Plain light malt flavors, a bit metallic, lo-med bitterness, faint fruitiness, somewhat harsh. Light body, not very pleasant but somehow drinkable.
2.3 Straw golden color with a sharp dry flavor and a little bitter ending. Aroma of hay and a taste of slight skunk.
2.6 Not a bad beer, definitely a step up from mass lagers (then again, it costs a bit more). Better than Yuengling’s lager. Good looker, but slightly over-fizzed, and has a whiff of skunk (green bottles). Not a hop bomb, but they’re present. Dry.
2.8 This pours a light straw gold with a fat head of foam that fell slowly enough and left spots fo lace. Nose is faint. Hardly any nose at all until it warms a bit and then you have faint grain, a touch of sweetness and a bit of grass. A faint lemon shows up late. Body is thin and watery but is’ well carbonated and has a nice bite. The flavors are a bit husky and while they do not really excite they do fill up the palate. There is a touch of buttery diacetyl on the palate that keeps this from finishing crisp and dry and rather leaves a bit of slickness that lingers a bit before it dries out eventually. Also a hint of cooked vegetable, green beans int he aftertaste. The lemon has a bit of tartness and a spritzy like character on the palate. It has a bit of pepper in the very last moments of the aftertaste and I like the lager much better. Also some sour in the aftertaste.
2.2 Pours golden, head disappears quickly, little lacing. Smell skunk and corn. Light earthy/floral hops on palate. Finishes dry with lingering musty taste. Not much here.
1.5 Bottle @ home, courtesy of BoostIPA. Thanks! Pours a clear golden appearance with a disappearing white head. Skunky, herbal hoppy, grassy, a touch metallic aroma. Twangy, corny, metallic, skunky, cardboard flavor. Not good.
1.4 The 450th site rating for this one. Bottle, green glass with screw-cap, waited to find a place that would sell me a single because I sure wasn’t buying a six-pack. Clear yellow-gold. Nose is corny-sweet with just a hint of malt, no skunk but not exactly prancing and reveling in spirited freshness. Only lightly crisp, lightly bitter, with stale overtones and an almost ashen aftertaste. Hops are really herbals and substantially grassier than most I encounter. Light-medium body with a decent job of hiding alcohol, but there’s just a nastiness here that permeates every facet of flavor. So it sort of fails as a lawnmower beer.
2.1 Golden colored body, minimal head, no lacing. Skunky cereal and crackers, some citrus. Thin bodied, moderate carbonation, soft finish.
2.3 Lord chesterfield's Ale is a straw colored light bodied ale. It has a hoppy aroma that starts dry and finishes slightly bitter.
1.9 Bottle - Pours golden with a filmy white head. Nose is weird honey sweetness, grainy, grassy hay. Just very odd. Taste is real sweet and grainy, with a bit of soured malt. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated.
2.8 Mild spice character, light citrus, hop backbone. A fun golden ale from Yuengling preferable to the lager
2.4 Presentation: It was poured from a green 12oz bottle into a pint glass. The label has no other info. Appearance: It has a light golden amber body with good clarity and some visible carbonation. From the pour I got a light, just off white head of soapy big bubbles. This fades out quickly leaving just a thin lacy ring of foam around the edge of the glass. Smell: The aroma is light and thin. I can only pick up a slight cereal and mild grain scent. Taste/Palate: Its light bodied and simple like the aroma it has a thin cereal grain flavor with a very light touch of lemony citrus hops. These hops add a very light bitterness and acidity. Under all this there is a slight light-struck (skunk) presence. Notes: This is a one and done for me. I am a fan of Yuengling but this was a bit of a let down for me.
2.7 12 oz. can. Pours a clear gold color with a two-finger white head. Light bodied, buttery taste. Fairly clean finish. One of their better beers, but nothing spectacular.
2.3 Fresh at the brewery. Aroma of bubble gum, citrus, and floral. Pours golden with a carbonated but not sticky head. Taste is malty with corn, slight citrus and floral. Light mouthfeel. Not pleasant after the first taste.
