3.7Trappist yeast works well with dark malt. A worthy Belgan style, complex and dangerously drinkable.
3.7Alone at home during holidays 2022. Brown colored beer with small off-white head and no carbonation visible. Malty fruited alcoholic aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is malty mucca alcoholic fruited bitter roasted.
2.5Not much taste. But got at a restaurant
3.8330ml bottle (Gambrinus, Tartu) (8:4:7:4:15=3.8)
Lovely deep red, large tan doughy head. Pretty classic strong belgian ale aroma, sweet, malty, and a slightly Chimay-like belgian twang (the red). Just a little bit of dustiness and old wood finish the experience off - smells of pews. Very mellow strong belgian ale taste, malty, not as sweet as I was expecting or fearing, in particular at 10%. After a few sips, and having let it sit, I'm now getting a lovely delicate perfume to the aroma too - this is very complex. Taste also evolves into a delightful mix of sophisticated esters, and perfumed noble hops. Palate's soft, carbonation's gentle, and the whole thing isn't saying "big beer - beware!". If anything, more complex than the Chimay whose likeness I referred to earlier. Lasting bitter tingle too - demands that you take another sip. Classic strong belgian ale - oh how I've missed thee.
4.1Florals, oak, and a little citrus. Dates and sweet tobacco, a little oak. Brown hazy pour with good head and lacing. Sweet finish with notes of oak. Wonderful. Bottle at Delerium.
4.433 cl bottle. This beer dont have the usuall trapist certification, but theres no need for that with this taste. Is FANTASTIC. red fruits, pepper, vainilla and chocolate, also some wood. Go get this beer, is very very good.
4.3330ml bottle brewed in Holland at 10%. Dark ruby-brown with an ample, good-duration light sandy head. Lightly boozy and perhaps somewhat thin yet nicely complex aroma of dark red fruit, figs through to strawberry via blackcurrant, with a honeyed fruitcake malt supporting. Moderate- carbonation, surprisingly foamy, yet kept in check by the decidedly sticky texture. Dark and sticky, but also juicy, definite blackcurrant on top of cherry-raisin fruitcake alongside lots of honey and fig and even a little hazelnut in the finish and aftertaste, but stays true to style by keeping itself buoyant. Very stylish, pleasantly boozy, and has the rustic air of a monastery to boot.
4.0Sample thanks to Grumbo: Poured a dark brown with a beige color head. Aroma is dark fruits, dates, figs, prunes, malts, yeasty, candy sugars, toffee. Taste is dark fruits, figs, dates, malty, yeasty, dry finish.
3.91/4/2022. Bottle courtesy of Nisse666, cheers. Pours clear mid-brown with a small frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma of dried fruits, prune, malt, toffee, brown sugar, biscuit, yeast. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Full bodied, creamy sticky texture, soft carbonation. Rich and warming gently boozy finish. Enjoyed this.
4.3LCI. Uit de fles geschonken. Lekkere trappist/quad.
4.9Bottle from Altopalato, served at home in a trappist glass.
Pours a brown reddish colour, medium head with long retention, thick lacing.
Aroma of chcolate, licorice, dark and red fruits, spices, cinnamon, vanilla, bananas, candy sugar, apricots, cloves.
Full body, thick sticky texture, good carbonation. Sweet finish.
Taste follows the aroma.
Wonderful, just one of the best of the quad style.
2.4Sem corpo. Sem espuma.
3.8Bottle from Beer Republic. Hazy dark red brown with a lasting beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dried fruit and yeasty. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish with warming alcohol. Oily. 120122
3.8nice looking bottle design and color really signals heavy belgian goodie beer.
dark brown to amber, smooth brown head.
aroma is very fruity, dark dried fruits, like a belgian brune, but more aromatic, more concentrated dark dried fruits. not boozy, almost like perfume.
flavor is dark dried fruits, marcipan, booze (alc.) , almonds, almost something resembling coconuts, quite sweet for a quad, also quite boozy, but not in a bad way, could be a bit more discrete though. I miss a solid malty base that I have found in other quads i really like, also the yeast seems to be fairly civilized. so a rather well behaved quad. very good though, you would not know it was dutch and not belgian ;-)
4.0Karamell. Krydda. Julöl!
3.8Malzig, röstig in der Nase. Im Trunk Rosinen, Malz, Brot, Holzbackofen. Ziemlich gut trinkbar, kein Alkohol wahrnehmbar, lecker.
3.7Bottle. Malty aroma amd taste, light roasty notes, caramel, sugar, mollases, spicy notes, light sweet, medium bitter. Full body, malty caramel bitter finish. Well hidden alcohol. Good.

Lacing is egészen kiváló. a külcsíny tehát jelesre viszgázott, lássuk a belbecst.
3.7330ml bottle. Dark brown color. Sweet, caramel, toffee, malty, alcohol, sugary in aroma/taste.
4.3Wyjątkowo intensywny i ciekawy quad. Oprócz typowych suszonych owoców, lekkiego karmelu i wyjątkowej soczystości, dochodzą fajne przyprawy. Bardzo gładkie, pełne, intensywne. Super.
Lukter malt, svisker, plomme. Smaker av mørke stenfrukter, malt og alkohol.
3.8[Bottle (330ml)] Pours a very dark brown with a large long-lasting frothy beige head. Some lasting lacing. Nice sweet, yeasty and malty aroma along with dark fruit, light hops, nuts and hints of coffee & chocolate. Malty flavour with dark fruit and light hops in the finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium bodied. Better than expected, a pretty good version of the style.
3.7Bottle sourced from Beer Republic and drunk at home (31/09/2021) - pours a dark brown colour with a tan head.
3.8Bottle: Deep ruby-amber coloured, medium-sized beige head, solid sweet and mildly bitter caramelly and fruity (dried red berries) aroma with certain spices underneath; medium to full bodied, robust sweet and mildly bitter flavour; lingering sweet-bitter fruity-caramelly finish with - yes - X-mas spices. Good enough...
4.02021-08-07. Very dark brown, large foamy tan head and lace. 4+ Aroma is pleasantly fruity, mild dark malt, nice dark fruit characters. Lightly sugary undertones. 8+ Flavour has a sort of herbal overtone up front, notes of anise and something else. Fairly alcoholic but not abrasively so considering it is 10% alcohol. Fruity undertones throughout. Drier than I expected up front, the sweetness comes back a bit towards the end of the glass. Smooth average plus bodied palate, good carbonation. 3++ Really nice. 8/4/8/4/16 Bottle from the LCBO, Toronto.

4.2Quad de abadia. Negro. Espuma abundante que permanece. Aroma lupulado. Sabor dulce, malta, especias. Retrogusto agradable dulce.
3.833cl bottle from online store, drinking it @home on 12/07/2021 BB 19/09/22 Pours a deep dark brown with red reflexes and thin beige head on top, lots of lacing. Aroma of malt, nuts, dark fruits, bread and yeast. Taste is quite sweet and easy, more than i was expecting but really easy to appreciate with malt, nuts, plum, chocolate, coffee, licorice, vanilla and sugary notes, nice short and sweet, easy finish and apparently no signs that would made you think it's 10% abv strong. Medium body and a bit oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Quite enjoyable and great tasting, but i wouldn't mind some more boldness and bitterness possibly, except for the unperceived alcohol and smoothness. Absolutely nothing to complain though, and it's dangerously delicious and easy to drink for what it is, without being too heavy or bitter tasting.
3.4Bottle of 33cl. Dark brown colour. Aroma is dried fruit, breadish. Aroma is tooooo light for a quad. Not bad, but not enough aroma, definitely. Way behind Rochefort 10.
Finish is sweat, well over bitterness
